Coldplay has been making headlines in India for quite some time now. The electrifying performance of the British band was received with both arms wide open by the audience. The love and warmth that the band received are beyond words. However, this popular band also made news sometimes owing to not-so-good reasons, like the ticketing controversy.
Ticket platform BookMyShow was under the radar in this case. A lawyer accused the said platform of indulging in illegal practices like ticket price manipulation, using bots for manipulating sales, and more. The allegations made by the lawyer demanded legal action against the platform, which led to a probe.
Now according to the latest updates, coming straight from the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police says that the case is closed, stating that no irregularities were found.
Police shared that allegations mentioned that the tickets were sold at a hike of 30 to 40 percent of the original price. Accusations mentioned that tickets originally priced at Rs 2,500 were being resold for as much as Rs 3 lakh. However, the Mumbai Police found no evidence to support these claims, the officials shared that there was no wrongdoing or illegal activity on the part of the said platform and thus the authorities have closed the case.
