Wedding bells are ringing for actor Parvati Nair and her soon-to-be husband, Chennai-based businessman Aashrith Ashok. In an exclusive chat with Bangalore Times ahead of the big day, Parvati tells us, “I am excited to start a new chapter with the love of my life.” The
Vascodigama actor reveals that she met her husband-to-be “by chance”, at a party. “We started talking that day, but honestly it took us a few months to actually get close,” she says. Aashrith adds, “What really helped us during the initial days of our relationship was the fact that both of us lived quite close to each other.” Excerpts from a chat with the happy couple:
‘Our wedding will be a mix of both Malayali and Telugu traditions’With Parvati hailing from Kerala and Aashrith from Hyderabad, the couple and their families chose Chennai as their wedding venue, celebrating a blend of both cultures. “Our wedding will be a mix of both Malayali and Telugu traditions, including the food. All our pre-wedding festivities, like the
Haldi
,
Mehendi
and
Sangeeth
, which start on February 6, will also be in Chennai. However, we will have a post-wedding reception in Kerala,” Parvati shares.
I can’t wait to explore the world and create wonderful memories with Aashrith

‘We began dating with the intention of getting married’“Being an actor, I know how easily people can deceive you with words,” Parvati tells us. “But that was not the case with Aashrith,” she adds.
The actress tells us, “I think it’s very important to get to know the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with. And Aashrith was very clear with his intentions from the start and with time, I understood that he’s a man of his word. He doesn’t say something just for the sake of it,” says Parvati. Aashrith adds, “We began dating with the intention of getting married and since both our families knew about our relationship, my mother got our
kundlis
checked, and here we are, now.”
‘Opposites really do attract; we are very different as people’Asked about their dynamic as a couple, Aashrith and Parvati explain that their differences are “the magic of their relationship”. “I’m very organised while she’s a lot more carefree, but those are things we will be able to navigate through,” assures Aashrith. “He’s old school when it comes to certain things, and I’m someone who goes with the flow, but despite the differences, we’re both ambitious people at the end of the day,” shares Parvati.
I may have made the first move, but it’s her consistent effort that has gotten us to where we are, now
