THIS Marathi film has a connect with US Citizenship policy

Nilesh Naik recently announced his upcoming Marathi film titled Dwidha. However, the recent news of US President Donald Trump rescinding birthright citizenship has a connection with his Marathi outing. Wondering how? Well the film's story veers around the dilemma of a mother, who has an option to give birth to her child in the US, so that he gets US citizenship. Naik elaborates, "The film also raises questions like, is getting citizenship in the US for her child the be all and end all?Could there be something more important, which could perhaps force her to give birth to her child here, in India, and deny her child US citizenship?"


The film stars Satish Pulekar will play the lead role in the movie alongside Manasi Kulkarni. He adds, "These days, it is indeed a matter of concern that Marathi films are struggling to get enough screens. I feel Dwidha has a relevant subject, and of course, contains a lot of entertainment. I am certain that people will go and watch the movie. If the content is good, the film works."
