Ajith Kumar Faces Scary Crash Ahead of Dubai 24 Hours Race

Ajith and Heera Rajagopal were once one of the most talked-about couples in South Indian cinema. Their romance began during the shooting of the film 'Kathal Kottai', and their bond grew stronger when they worked together again on 'Thodarum'. At the time, Ajith and Heera were deeply in love, and their close co-stars were well aware of their serious relationship. In fact, Ajith often wrote letters to Heera, some of which were later read by others. Reports indicate that they were planning to marry.
However, their relationship faced hurdles. Heera’s mother opposed the marriage, as she did not want her daughter’s career to end at such a young age. Additionally, Heera’s changing attitude towards Ajith led to their breakup in 1998. Reflecting on this period, Ajith shared in a past interview with a tabloid: “We lived together, I really liked her, but now everything has changed; she is not the same person anymore. In fact, she is a drug addict.”
Ajith’s future with Shalini began when they worked together on the 1999 film 'Amarkalam'. Despite their differing religious backgrounds, the two hit it off immediately. Ajith spoke fondly of their meeting, describing it as love at first sight. In an interview in 2007, Ajith shared an unforgettable incident from their time on set. During a particular scene, he accidentally cut Shalini’s wrist, something they were both unaware of until blood started flowing. Shalini was promptly rushed to the hospital, where Ajith cared for her throughout. Ajith’s actions won Shalini’s heart, and the two began dating. They eventually married on April 24, 2000.
On the work front, Ajith was last seen in the action film 'Valimai'. ETimes review for the H.Vinoth directorial reads, "It's a clash between stunts and sentiment in Valimai, a somewhat engaging but overlong action movie that hides its simplistic writing with elaborate action set-pieces. We keep getting a sense of Vinoth trying hard to strike a balance between making a gritty action movie and satisfying the demands of a star vehicle, with message, sentiment, and 'mass' moments. Despite the story having scope for rooting the action scenes in emotion, he is content with treating them as just standalone set-pieces." Even with mediocre reviews, 'Valimai' raked in decent box office numbers. Recently the makers shared the trailer for Ajith's most awaited upcoming film 'Vidaamuyarchi' .
