Can't wait for Sheeran: Excited fans on pop star's performance in city
Chennai is abuzz with anticipation as global music sensation Ed Sheeran will be performing in the city tomorrow as part of his + - = ÷ x tour, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live. From staying glued to their screens to book tickets to flying in from other cities, passionate fans share their excitement and are hoping for an unforgettable night.
The ticket rush
Talking about the demand for tickets, Akash Selvaraj, a 28-year-old techie, says, “I was terrified the tickets would sell out like they did for Coldplay’s concert, so I sat refreshing the website for hours to make sure I got mine. It was stressful but so worth it."
Talking about the stringent pass verification process, Aditya S, a 32-year-old entrepreneur from Chennai, says, “The ID verification process made booking tickets harder, but it also ensured a safer experience as each ticket was sold only with a verified ID. Once the ID was verified, the passes and wristbands were delivered at home within the next few days. Getting the passes delivered to my home felt surreal, and I can’t wait to experience the concert!”
All the way from Pune
Meanwhile, Priya Singh and Archana Mehta, who are studying in Pune, are coming down all the way to Chennai. “Missing Ed Sheeran’s concert in Pune was heartbreaking, as we could not even get the tickets. Archana immediately Googled and found out that he had this concert in Chennai and we booked our slots for it,” shares Priya.
Chennai is finally hosting international music stars
Happy about how Chennai is now becoming a hotspot for international artistes and concerts, Anita Reddy, a 21-year-old corporate worker, shares, “I feel Chennai is getting the exposure it deserves. Ed Sheeran’s music has been my safe space for years, I grew up listening to him. I can’t wait to sing along with him and thousands of other fans.”
