Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah recently took to Instagram to express his discontent. He shared a post featuring the 'Hi Nanna' poster alongside that of the Kannada film 'Bheema Sena Nala Maharaja', claiming that the Telugu film was a direct adaptation made without securing official remake rights.

Accusing the makers of plagiarism, Pushkara did not mince words while calling out Nani. In his post, he wrote, “Without taking #RemakeRights, Hi Nanna has been made by copying our original movie #BheemaSenaNalaMaharaja. What a cheap thing to do, @nameisnani.”
Despite these serious allegations, neither Nani nor the makers of 'Hi Nanna' have responded to the claims so far.
Directed by Shouryuv, 'Hi Nanna' was well-received upon release, earning critical praise and commercial success. The film was released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The movie secured its OTT rights and has been streaming on Netflix since January 2024.
'Bheemasena Nalamaharaja' is a 2020 Kannada film directed by Karthik Saragur and produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah. It stars Aravinnd Iyer and Aarohi Narayan, along with Priyanka, Aadya, and Achyut Kumar in key roles.
On the work front, Nani is gearing up for the release of 'HIT: The Third Case' by Sailesh Kolanu.
