Breaking barriers: Kids with disabilities set to 'Yog' their way into the Record books!

Historically marginalized, children with disabilities are now gaining equal opportunities. On World Disability Day, Ghaziabad will host a sports and cultural event for their holistic development. Over 350 differently-abled children will attempt a world record in Bhujangasana. The event includes competitions and will see participation from various organizations.
Breaking barriers: Kids with disabilities set to 'Yog' their way into the Record books!
In the past, children with disabilities often faced many challenges. They were treated unfairly and didn't have the same opportunities as other kids. This made it hard for them to learn, make friends, and grow up to be independent. They were looked at with a certain negative lens, and this hindered them from having a normal, conventional life. From pity to disgust, those innocent kids had to endure it all.
But times are changing! More and more people are realising that kids with disabilities deserve the same chances as everyone else. Governments, schools, and communities are working together to make things more inclusive. And this means that kids with disabilities are now getting the support they need to succeed. They're going to school, making friends, and learning new skills. Some are even excelling in sports, music, and art!
As a result, kids with disabilities are gaining confidence and independence. They're showing the world that they're capable of achieving great things, and that they deserve respect and equality.
And now, under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, on the occasion of World Disability Day on December 3, a sports and cultural program is being organized for the holistic development of children with disabilities in Ghaziabad. This initiative is being conducted by Bhagirath Seva Sansthan in collaboration with Integrated Education Basic Education Department, Ghaziabad, along with government and social organizations working in this field.
With the vision of bringing transformation to the lives of children with disabilities through yoga, more than 350 differently-abled children will set a world record in Bhujangasana under the leadership of the Yogasana Book of World Record Council.
This event will be graced by Ghaziabad's Chief Development Officer, Mr. Abhinav Gopal, Basic Education Officer Mr. O.P. Yadav, Integrated Education Coordinator Dr. Rakesh, Bhagirath Seva Sansthan President Mr. Amitabh Shukla, Yogasana Book of World Record Council's Chief Editor and Founder Dr. Malvika Bajpai, Chief Patron Dr. Arvind Kumar, CEO and Founder Acharyashree Dr. Yash Parashar, and District physical education Teacher Dr. Rajkumar.
Various competitions like solo singing, solo dancing, group dancing, lemon race, touch-and-identify competition for visually impaired children, painting competition, and tug-of-war will also be organized for the children. Certificates will be provided to all participants by the World Record Council.
Organizations like Neev Shakti Foundation, Anand Education and Training Center, Pehchaan Trust, and Bhagirath Seva Sansthan will also participate to ensure the success of this event.
