At 40, US Vice President JD Vance is one of the youngest to hold the office in this capacity. The US Vice President has been sworn in and will succeed Kamala Harris.
JD Vance is married to Usha Vance, born as Usha Bala Chilukuri to Telugu Indian immigrant parents living in San Diego, California. They first met each other while studying at the Yale Law school. The couple got married in 2014 and are parents to three kids: Ewan Blaine Vance, Vivek Vance and Mirabel Rose Vance.
Ewan, the eldest child of the couple, is 8 years old.
Vivek was born in February 2020. Though Vances are very protective about their kids, they occasionally share pictures on social media. "Great day fishing the Kalamazoo River in Saugatuck with my four year old son Vivek this morning. We always enjoy our visits to Michigan, be back soon!," JD Vance had posted on social media a few weeks back.
Mirabel was born in December 2021 and is a little more than 3 years old right now.
He loves being a dad more than anything else
"I love being a dad and Usha loves being a mom and I think we love doing that together. And that’s not going to change, whether Trump picks me to be vice president or not," JD Vance had told Fox News ahead of being named Donald Trump's running mate.
In several interviews, Vance's Hindu American wife Usha Vance has spoken about how different religious faiths play in their parenting. "There are a lot of things that we just agree on, especially when it comes to family life (and) how to raise our kids. And so I think the answer really is we just talk a lot," she had revealed in an interview.
Hillbilly Elegy
JD Vance is the author of "Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis". The book was adapted into a movie in 2020 directed by Ron Howard and starring Glenn Close and Amy Adams.
In the book, JD Vance talks about his upbringing and family background. He talks about his mother's alcoholism and failed relationships and how his grandparents became his guardians.
