NEW DELHI: Indian Grandmaster and reigning World Rapid Chess Champion Koneru Humpy is set to make her return to the prestigious Norway Chess Women tournament in May 2025. As the world number six in women's classical chess, Humpy is determined to make her mark on the global stage once again.
Humpy’s career is adorned with numerous milestones. In 2002, she became the first Indian woman to achieve the Grandmaster title, establishing herself as a trailblazer in Indian chess. Over the years, she has consistently remained India's top-ranked female player and one of the leading figures in the global chess community.
