NEW DELHI: After a remarkable 2024, Indian chess is set to welcome 2025 with one of the most anticipated events on the global calendar—the Tata Steel Chess Tournament.
Hosted in the serene town of Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, this prestigious tournament runs from January 17 to February 2, 2025, marking its 87th edition.
The event’s spotlight will be on the Masters category, featuring the newly crowned World Chess Champion, D Gukesh, alongside World No. 2 Fabiano Caruana and a lineup of elite Grandmasters, including four players from the top 10 and seven from the top 20.
