Anvay Dravid, son of cricketing icon Rahul Dravid, scored an impressive century for Karnataka in a Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Jharkhand. The match, held in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh, ended in a draw.
Anvay, batting at number four, remained undefeated on 100. His innings came off 153 balls and included ten fours and two sixes. Karnataka declared their innings at 441 for 4 in 123.3 overs.
He built a substantial 167-run partnership with Syaamantak Anirudh (76) for the third wicket. He then added another 43 runs with Sukurth J (33) for the fourth wicket.
Jharkhand, batting first, were bowled out for 387 in their innings spanning 128.4 overs.
Karnataka earned three points from the draw by virtue of their first innings lead, while Jharkhand received one point.
Anvay captained the Karnataka Under-14 team in the previous year. He also recently hit an unbeaten double century (200) for Bangalore Zone against Tumkur Zone in a KSCA Under-16 Inter-Zonal match.
Anvay's older brother, Samit, is a 19-year-old all-rounder. Samit represented India in the Under-19 home series against Australia in September and October. Prior to his national selection, Samit played for Mysuru Warriors in the Maharaja T20 Trophy.
