WPL 2025: The Women’s Premier League, popularly known as the WPL, is all set to make a comeback this year with its third season. The women’s franchise T20 league, organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is speculated to commence on 7th February 2025, and the Final will be played on 2nd March.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), led by Smriti Mandhana, are the defending WPL champions after lifting the trophy in the second season in 2024. Mumbai Indians, under Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership, won the first edition of the WPL in 2023.

The 2025 WPL will comprise of five teams, just like the previous two seasons, namely: Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG) and UP Warriorz (UPW). This time there will be four cities hosting the WPL, Baroda and Lucknow will host WPL games along with Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The opening match is due to be played in the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and the final of WPL 2025 will be
hosted by the newly built Kotambi stadium in Vadodara, this stadium recently hosted its first-ever international match, an ODI between India women and the West Indies women.
