India's Arjun Atwal concluded his participation in the Kaulig Companies Championship, a major event on the Senior Champions Tour in the United States, with a final round score of 7-over 77.
The Indian golfer's overall performance placed him tied for 67th position.
Throughout the tournament, Atwal recorded rounds of 74-71-73-77 at the Firestone Country Club's South Course in Akron, Ohio.
The challenging final day saw Atwal struggle, particularly on his first nine holes, where he carded five bogeys and a double bogey.
He managed to stabilize his game on the back nine, recording all pars.
The legendary Ernie Els emerged victorious at the event. Despite his illustrious career and induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame, a senior Major title had eluded Els until now.
At the age of 54, Els showcased his skills and determination, shooting a 2-under 68 on the final day to finish with a total score of 10-under 270. His performance was just enough to edge out YE Yang by a single shot, despite a bogey on the par-5 16th hole.
This victory marks Els's sixth on the PGA TOUR Champions and his third this season, propelling him to the top of the season-long Charles Schwab Cup standings.
