Jeev Milkha Singh finishes strong with 3rd Spot at India Legends Championship

The inaugural India Legends Tour, held at Jaypee Greens Golf Course, saw Swedish golfer Joakim Haeggman claim the top spot, while India’s Jeev Milkha Singh finished strong in third place. The prestigious event marked a significant milestone for Indian golf, showcasing a competitive lineup of legendary players.
Reflecting on his experience, Haeggman shared, "The Jaypee Greens Golf Course presented a fresh challenge.Its unique layout and immaculate conditions pushed me to new limits. Even after years in the sport, it’s amazing to find new excitement. While I’ve drawn inspiration from legends like Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods, my passion and dedication drive me forward."
For Jeev Milkha Singh, though he narrowly missed the title, his performance highlighted India’s strong presence in the first-ever Legends Tour on home soil. His playing partner, Jyoti Randhawa, finished tied for ninth with a score of 2-under 214 (68-72-74), while Mukesh Kumar secured T-15 and Amandeep Johl ended T-22.
Jeev emphasized the growing stature of golf in India, noting the involvement of cricket legends Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh. "Having sports icons like Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh at events like this elevates the profile of golf in India. Their participation not only draws attention but also inspires future generations. Kapil’s remarkable performance has showcased the sport’s appeal to a broader audience, and I’m grateful to Yuvraj, a close friend, for his enthusiasm in joining us. His love for golf and dedication to this event at Jaypee Greens will hopefully encourage more people to take up the sport."
He also praised the venue, stating, "Jaypee Greens Golf Course is the perfect location for the Legends Tour. The hotel and course are adjacent, making it incredibly convenient for players. The course is in world-class condition, providing a fantastic experience for legends who have competed at the highest levels. Jaypee’s contribution to this event has been vital, and I’m sure the players will take home wonderful memories, returning for future tournaments."
Adding to the excitement, Yuvraj Singh commented, "Jaypee Greens Golf Course is challenging with its narrow fairways and numerous bunkers, but after a couple of days, you start to get a feel for the layout. I’m pleased with my performance so far."
