Shubhankar Sharma of India made the cut at the Scottish Open, carding a 2-under 68 in his second round, which included an eagle. With a total of 3-under, he is currently tied for 63rd position. This marks his first cut at the event since 2020, when he achieved his best finish of tied 26th.
Despite a double bogey on the 18th hole, Indian-American Sahith Theegala shot an impressive 66 in his second round.
With rounds of 66 and 65, he sits at 9-under, tied for fifth place and just three strokes behind the leader, Swedish rising star Ludvig Aberg.
Aberg, who has experienced a remarkable rise in the rankings over the past year, carded consecutive rounds of 64 to take a one-shot lead into the weekend.
The 24-year-old is seeking his first Rolex Series title and has already won on both the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, played on a victorious European Ryder Cup team, finished second at the Masters Tournament on his Major debut, and climbed to fourth in the world rankings.
Frenchman Antoine Rozner remained bogey-free for the week with a 64, sitting at 11-under, while Italian Matteo Manassero carded a 63 and South Korea's Sungjae Im shot a 67, both one shot behind Rozner.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy, Americans Collin Morikawa and Theegala, Spaniard Alejandro de Rey, Dane Rasmus Hojgaard, and Swede Alex Noren are all at 9-under.
Justin Thomas, who shot a 62 on the first day, struggled with a 72 in the second round, leaving him at 8-under and six shots behind the leader.
PGA champion Xander Schauffele also sits six back after a 65, making his 51st consecutive cut on the PGA TOUR. However, Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, and Rickie Fowler all missed the cut.
