NEW DELHI: The 10m air rifle mixed team event witnessed a thrilling contest between Punjab's Arjun Babuta and Ojasvi Thakur, and Maharashtra's Arya Borse and Rudrankksh Patil.
The Punjab duo showcased remarkable precision and composure, clinching the gold medal with a narrow 16-12 victory over their Maharashtra counterparts in an intense final.
Both pairs displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition, with the outcome decided by a mere 0.4 points in the final shot.
In the bronze medal match, West Bengal's Abhinav Shaw and Ismita Bhowal secured a well-deserved podium finish, defeating Gujarat by a convincing 17-11 margin.
Their final shot score of 21.1 proved superior to Gujarat's 20.4, highlighting their ability to perform under pressure.
The qualification round saw participation from 25 teams across India, with Punjab leading the standings with a score of 631.7, followed closely by Maharashtra (630.7), West Bengal (630.6), and Gujarat (629.4).
In the women's 25m pistol event, Punjab's Simranpreet Kaur Brar topped the qualification round with an impressive score of 579.
The final round featured eight shooters from various states, including Delhi's Pushpanjali Rana, Karnataka's T S Divya, and Maharashtra's Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat and Riya Shirish Thatte, among others.
The National Games provided a platform for talented shooters from across the country to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.
