Lily Gladstone, an Indigenous woman of Blackfeet and Nez Perce background, becomes the first Indigenous person to win a Golden Globe for best actress. She won for her portrayal of Mollie Burkhart in "Killers of the Flower Moon." Gladstone dedicated her award to "every little rez kid" and thanked her director and co-stars. Buffy Sainte-Marie won a Golden Globe in 1983, but her Indigenous heritage has been disputed. Robbie Robertson was nominated this year, but lost to Ludwig Goransson.
