The official trailer for the award-winning film 'Mon Potongo' (Mind Flies), directed by Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti, was released in a unique event. The film, which features real pavement dwellers, tells the story of their struggles for survival on the streets of Kolkata.

Director duo Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti’s experimental film ‘Kalkokkho’ won the Best Bengali Film award at the 69th National Film Awards. The Bengali film, which had its premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival 2021, focuses on an existential horror scenario inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. It also explores the texture of time.

The film 'Kalkokkho', directed by Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti, recently won the National Award for Best Bengali Feature Film, presented to producer Anjan Bose by President Droupadi Murmu. The story, reflecting the COVID-19 pandemic's despair, revolves around a doctor's transformative experience when kidnapped by a paranoid woman. With a cast led by Sreelekha Mukherji and Janardan Ghosh, the film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, hindered by pandemic-related travel restrictions.

She last acted in a Bengali film 13 years ago and it was the Dev-Srabanti Chatterjee-starrer ‘Dujone’ in 2009. And now, after all these years National Award-winning actor Seema Biswas has started shooting for a Bengali film titled ‘Mon Potongo’. The film, being directed by Rajdeep Paul and Sharmistha Maiti, is currently being shot in and around Kolkata with ‘Bandit Queen’ fame Seema Biswas playing roadside tea stall owner.

‘Kalkokkho’ (House Of Time) aims to bridge the gap between magical realism and existential horror as it highlights the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
