At the presentation ceremony of the 68th National Film Awards, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Most Film Friendly State award to Madhya Pradesh's Minister of Culture Usha Thakur.

As the 68th National Film Awards were presented on Friday by President Droupadi Murmu, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur during the event spoke about various aspects of cinema along with the rise of OTT platforms.

A 10-member jury led by director-producer Vipul Shah met Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Friday morning to submit its report on the 68th National Film Awards.

For the second time in five years, picturesque Madhya Pradesh has been awarded the "most film-friendly state" at the 68th National Film Awards 2020.

The lure of earning millions of dollars by turning professional at an early age has seen India’s several top golfers leave the amateur circuit. To arrest the trend, Indian Golf Union (IGU) – the governing body of the sport in India – has decided to henceforth incentivise the amateur golfers by rewarding them with $1000 (Rs 82,000 approx) for every tournament they participate in.

The winners of the 68th National Awards were announced on Friday afternoon in New Delhi. The prestigious awards are regulated by the Government of India’s Directorate of Film Festivals. This year, the films released in 2020 were also recognised due to the delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Filmmaker Hansel Mehta's 'Shahid' will be the opening film at the first Dharamshala international film festival, beginning November 1.
