The official trailer for the award-winning film 'Mon Potongo' (Mind Flies), directed by Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti, was released in a unique event. The film, which features real pavement dwellers, tells the story of their struggles for survival on the streets of Kolkata.

Director duo Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti’s experimental film ‘Kalkokkho’ won the Best Bengali Film award at the 69th National Film Awards. The Bengali film, which had its premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival 2021, focuses on an existential horror scenario inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. It also explores the texture of time.

The films narrates the story of a madly-in-love inter-faith couple run away from the villagefearing persecution and finds shelter on the open pavements of the city streets. As they get accustomed to the harsh life on the streets their minds are enchanted by a throne like “Seat of Power” inside an exquisite furniture showroom which they want to gift to and and share with each other as a token of their love.

The film 'Kalkokkho', directed by Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti, recently won the National Award for Best Bengali Feature Film, presented to producer Anjan Bose by President Droupadi Murmu. The story, reflecting the COVID-19 pandemic's despair, revolves around a doctor's transformative experience when kidnapped by a paranoid woman. With a cast led by Sreelekha Mukherji and Janardan Ghosh, the film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, hindered by pandemic-related travel restrictions.

After their award-winning short films including ‘Malai’ and ‘Kayantar’, National Award-winning filmmakers Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti are ready with their next film ‘Kalkokkho’.

At least nine Rajat Kamals (Silver Lotus) were announced for Bengal’s talents in the Feature and Non-Feature film categories at the 69th National Film Awards on Thursday. This is in addition to a Silver Lotus being given to a centurion production house from Kolkata - Aurora Film Corporation Pvt. Ltd that produced ‘Kalkokkho – House of Time’.​

The first-ever international film festival, supported by Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry, will begin here on April 2, officials said on Wednesday.

Directed by National Award-winning director duo Sarmistha Maiti and Rajdeep Paul, short film ‘Kayantar’ (Metamorphosis) is set in the backdrop of rural Bengal. It follows a Muslim family carrying on the folk tradition of Behrupiyas or indigenous cosplay performers.
