Beautiful countries that share border with India
India shares its land borders with six countries – Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, China, Bangladesh and Myanmar, and a maritime border with Sri Lanka. Each of these countries offer unique landscapes, cultures, and experiences, and have their own unique charm, cultural heritage, and natural wonders. For a traveller, this means plenty of exciting travel opportunities and experiences.

Nepal
The long and scenic border between Nepal and India will give you some of the most culturally rich experiences. With mountains all around, there’s a lot to see and enjoy. Nepal is home to the highest mountain in the world – Mount Everest.

Bhutan
Bhutan shares a serene border with India. If you choose to do a roadtrip to Bhutan, know that it will be one of the prettiest journeys ever. The lush green landscapes, traditional Bhutanese architecture, and the towering peaks of the Eastern Himalayas make this destination and the journey easily one of the best.

Pakistan
India’s border with Pakistan goes from high mountains of Jammu and Kashmir to the vast deserts of Rajasthan and the plains of Gujarat.

China
The border between India and China spans the Himalayas, stretching from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. This border region is stunning to say the least. With majestic mountain landscapes and high-altitude lakes, it’s a visual delight.

Bangladesh
India shares a border with Bangladesh in the east, marked by the fertile plains of the Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta. We also share the Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest.

Myanmar
The northeastern border of India meets Myanmar. The border regions in Manipur and Mizoram offer a mix of cultural influences that are fascinating to experience. The landscapes range from lush greenery to mountainous terrains.

Sri Lanka
Though India doesn't share a land border with Sri Lanka, what we have is the maritime boundary, and it is fascinating nonetheless. The Gulf of Mannar between Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka is one of the most biologically diverse regions.
