Bling Empire: New York Star Lynn Ban Has Emergency Brain Surgery Following Ski Accident: 'Last Thing I Remember Is Being Intubated'

A ski mishap that "didn't seem that bad at the time" resulted in a near-fatal brain bleed that necessitated emergency surgery for Bling Empire: New York star Lynn Ban.
In a Dec. 30 Instagram post, Ban, 51, showed photographs of herself in the hospital after an emergency craniotomy. The surgery entailed shaving half of her head and many surgical staples.
The acclaimed jewellery designer, whose designs have been worn by Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, and Billy Porter, revealed that she was skiing in Aspen with her family on Christmas Eve when "I had a ski accident that would change my life."
Ban, who stated she was wearing a helmet at the time, said that the tip of her ski hooked on something and she "face planted". It didn't seem so horrible at the moment, and I managed to ski to the bottom."
"To be safe, I wanted to get checked out by ski patrol for a concussion." They evaluated me, and I was cleared. I had a headache, but I assumed it will pass after lunch and I could ski again. The paramedic recommended that I go to the hospital for a cat scan.
"This saved my life," Ban added, detailing how her husband, Jett, brought her to the hospital in a taxi. “within 30 minutes they told us I had a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, head trauma can lead to a brain bleed. A craniotomy involves removing a part of the skull to reduce pressure and stop the bleeding.
For Ban, the "last thing I remember was being intubated and waking up after an emergency craniotomy with Jett by my side."
