Actress Aastha Chaudhary, who is currently in her sasural in Prayagraj, feels lucky to have a home in the city that is hosting the Maha Kumbh. “Ever since I have been here, I have made it a point to explore the mela area every day. To be very honest, earlier I used to believe that Kumbh Mela was for the elderly people, but this time there was an inner calling to experience it. This being my first experience of this phenomenal event, I have no words to describe it, especially the holy dip. I have done the snan twice and I believe that I came out far calmer, some kind of energy certainly hits you once you enter the holy water. You come out less burdened.”

The Mehandi Wala Ghar actress, says “Kumbh Mela area is a different world altogether. Once I had gone with my husband Dr Aditya to the sector where most of the akharas were placed, I saw sadhus, including naga sadhus on a vehicle in a spiritual ecstatic state, as they were dancing, least bothered about the world around them. It took me a while to absorb the experience. While exploring, we randomly walked into the akharas and shivirs, listening to the kathas that are happening in most of these places. I felt fortunate that we could experience all of this. Some really beautiful pandals have been set up. What also really amazes me is the faith of the people. The kind of devotion I have seen in the pilgrims, who are walking long distances and undergoing the struggle to reach the place is really commendable.”
