Shark Tank India 4: Anupam Mittal tells pitcher Gaurav Taneja aka ‘The Flying Beast’, ‘You are a good influencer but a terrible entrepreneur’
In the latest episode of Shark Tank India 4, YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, who made headlines a few months ago due to issues in his marriage with wife Ritu Rathee, appeared as a pitcher. He introduced his fitness brand, BeastLife, on the show. The brand offers a variety of products, including whey protein, creatine monohydrate, and energy-boosting mass gainers.
They made a notable appearance on Shark Tank India 4. The brand sought ₹1 crore for a 1% equity stake to scale its innovative, easily digestible protein supplements. Beastlife quickly grabbed attention with its impressive ₹1 crore in sales within just one hour of launching its password-protected website.

Gaurav along with his business partner left the Sharks shocked with their subscribers and social media following. Vineeta Singh says, "Ek karod toh aap ek din mein kamaa lete ho, toh yahan kya kar rahe ho?" Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal were also spellbound after listening to the numbers Gaurav's brand is doing. However, things weren’t easy for Gaurav as he also faced some tough questions from Anupam Mittal.

Anupam asks Gaurav about his unique users on YT. Gaurav shared that he is not that prepared with the social media numbers as they focused on business numbers. Aman Gupta laughs and Anupam tells other Sharks not to get so excited about the products and jump the numbers. Anupam asks about his monthly active numbers, to which Gaurav gives and approximate number. Later, Anupam tells them, “You are a good influencer but a terrible entrepreneur so far. I am sorry but you can’t outsource entrepreneurship.”
Anupam also shared his experiences of failed business. He goes on to say, “Let me tell you a story. When I started my journey, I was also like you. I was a star in my head. You feel like you can do anything. I did not only build India’s first matchmaking business but also I started first mobile gaming company, digital agency but I learnt that you cannot allocate time in startups. You have to be there all the time. I used a lot of market shares in the matchmaking business and it was almost dead. I exited the rest of the business. Today, Shaadi.com is the largest only through focus. You will get lost doing so many things. It’s not that I don’t have trust in you. I have more trust in Indian entrepreneurship.”

Their hesitation stemmed from Gaurav’s divided focus between multiple business ventures and his demanding influencer career, the fragmented equity split between the founders, and doubts over his long-term commitment to Beastlife. These critical factors ultimately led the Sharks to walk away, resulting in a ‘no deal’ for Beastlife in the tank.
