Skincare brand pitcher slams Shark Tank India 4’s sharks; says ‘How they treated us was unfair and hurtful’
The founders of skincare brand Personal Touch have openly criticized the treatment they received on Shark Tank India 4, expressing their disappointment and frustration. The brand took to social media to share their ordeal, stating that while they accepted not securing a deal, the way the sharks questioned their credibility was deeply upsetting.
“It was our dream to go to Shark Tank India. And when we went there, maybe if we had gotten a deal, it would have been great. But not getting a deal didn’t hurt us much. What truly hurt was how the Sharks treated us, questioning our community, calling it fake, and not real. The harsh reality is that they couldn’t believe what the two of us have built and achieved in the past two years. Despite showing every possible proof and confidential data to demonstrate our thriving customer base, we were still doubted,” they shared.

The company further urged their supporters to help them prove their credibility by sharing their testimonials online. “Help us prove that what we’ve accomplished together is nothing short of extraordinary. Personal Touch Skincare has been built on the love and trust of our community, and now, we’re inviting you to share your journey with us. Post your testimonials, pictures, and stories about how PT has made a difference in your life. Let’s celebrate the moments where our products have brought you confidence and joy. Your voice matters, and your support is the heart of our success. And don’t forget to tag the sharks—let’s show them why #WeArePersonalTouch.”

For those unfamiliar, one of the episodes of Shark Tank India 4 featured a heated exchange between Vineeta Singh and sibling entrepreneurs Aditi and Ashish Jawa, who pitched their skincare brand Personal Touch. The duo valued their company at ₹120 crore and sought ₹1.2 crore for a 1% stake. They highlighted their rapid growth from ₹1.5 crore to ₹20 crore within a year and even mentioned a ₹2.7 crore concert collaboration with singer B Praak. However, the sharks found inconsistencies in their figures and questioned the legitimacy of their community and social media engagement.
Vineeta Singh pointed out anomalies, noting that their reels had over 2 million views but merely 700 likes. When asked about the ratio of organic to paid sales, the pitchers struggled to provide clear answers, leading to further skepticism from Aman Gupta, Kunal Bahl, and Azhar Iqubal. Additionally, Vineeta raised concerns about their pricing strategy and the possibility that their cousin, who manufactures their products, might be overcharging them.

While the pitchers defended their business model and claimed to use a “drop” sales strategy, the sharks remained unconvinced. Eventually, Aman, Kunal, and Azhar withdrew from making an offer, with Vineeta concluding, “Daal mein kuch kaala hai,” implying that something was amiss with their business model.
