'Aliyans' completes 1000 episodes; Aneesh Ravi says 'It's the same excitement as when a movie enters the 100 Crore Club'
From his first hit show, Minnukettu, to the current successful sitcom Aliyans, actor Aneesh Ravi has achieved a unique milestone. Can you guess what it is? He is apparently the only Malayalam TV actor to have been a part of three shows that have each reached 1,000 episodes. As Aliyans celebrates its 1,000th episode, we caught up with him for an exclusive chat about this remarkable achievement.
"I feel blessed. Even though I wasn't the lead, I was fortunate to be part of Malayalam's first-ever 1,000-episode serial, Minnukettu. Then, Karyam Nissaram crossed the 1,000-episode milestone, and now, Aliyans has reached the same mark. Words can't express how I feel. It's the same excitement as when a movie enters the 100 Crore Club," Aneesh shared.
446.

Not only has the sitcom reached this milestone, but the celebratory episodes hold extra significance for Aneesh, as he has also taken on the role of scriptwriter for the ongoing five episodes.
"Thanks to director Rajesh Thalachira, he gave me the opportunity to script the five episodes leading up to the 1,000th. It's a celebration on-screen as well. The family is celebrating Amma's 70th birthday, the Sapthathi. We've invited most of the actors who were part of the show. We had the shoot last month, and it was an absolute blast. We’re also planning a grand event on February 1st to celebrate the success," he shared.
Reflecting on his five years with Aliyans, the actor shared that the character of Kanakan has profoundly transformed him into a better artist.
"When I played Mohanakrishnan in Karyam Nissaram, he was very different from me—a disciplined, tough, and somewhat rough man. But Kanakan is much more like me. He’s a simple family man and a disciplined police officer. Kanakan is very dear to me because he closely resembles my own character. What's even rarer is the opportunity I got to play Kanakan’s father as well. That’s something an artist rarely gets," he added.

Aneesh Ravi also expressed his gratitude to the viewers for their immense love and support for the show over the years.
"If you Google Aliyans house, you’ll see the exact shoot location. That’s how popular the show and the house have become among viewers. People from all over the world, even from places we aren’t familiar with, tell us they’re huge fans of the show. Aliyans has become a part of their daily lives. We feel truly blessed," he said.
The actor also expressed his gratitude to the entire crew and the channel airing the show for their unwavering support.
"Aliyans is truly a show that portrays the life of an ordinary person around us. It captures their happiness, struggles, issues, laughter, and tears—everything. It’s both a challenge and a blessing to work with a single thread running through every episode. I’m grateful to the crew and cast for sticking with it over the years. Every day, we have healthy discussions about what should and shouldn’t be in Kanakan's life. These discussions make each episode better. People often ask why we don’t switch to a top-rated channel to gain more attention. But we’ve seen many sitcoms lose their charm when moved to a new platform. We’re happy here. The creative freedom we have is unparalleled, and that’s the true success of the show," the actor concludes.
