Anand Sharma resigns as chief of Himachal Pradesh Congress steering committee

Congress leader Anand Sharma resigned as the chief of Himachal Pradesh Congress steering committee ahead of elections in the state. The move came days after Ghulam Nabi Azad’s resigned as chairman of the campaign committee of J&K Congress. In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, Sharma complained that he was neither invited to over 20 meetings of various poll panels held till now, nor the ones held by central observer Bhupesh Baghel on August 7-8, nor has he been consulted on issues by task force in the capital. The senior Congress leader said that his “self-respect is non-negotiable.”
