Canada's Ontario, British Columbia boycott US alcohol, Trump says 'we don't need anything they have'

Ontario and British Columbia have announced a ban on American liquor in response to escalating tariffs between the US and Canada. Premier Doug Ford and Premier David Eby have instructed local liquor stores to remove American products as a form of protest against the tariff policies enforced by President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump says US needs nothing from Canada as trade war intensifies.
Two of Canada's largest provinces announced US liquor ban as the tariff war between the US and Canada intensified with Justin Trudeau not budging and President Donald Trump reiterating that Canada should cease to exist as a viable country. Ontario premier Doug Ford Sunday announced that his officials will soon be removing American products from provincial liquor store shelves. This came a day after British Columbia Premier David Eby announced that the local authority will stop buying liquor from US Republican states.
“Effective today, I have directed BC Liquor sales to immediately stop buying American liquor from red states,” Eby said, in a televised address. “Liquor store employees will be removing the most popular of these brands from government store shelves.”
“Every year, [the Liquor Control Board of Ontario] sells nearly $1 billion worth of American, wine, beer, spirits and seltzers,” Ontario's Doug Ford said. “Not anymore.”

Justin Trudeau announced 25 per cent tariff on US goods without buckling under the pressure.

'Canadians are hurt by new tariffs'

Canadian PM candidate Chrystia Freeland said Canadians are hurt by the new tariffs. "Americans have to understand how hurt and frankly how furious Canadians are. Our sovereignty is being challenged. Regular Canadians across the country are coming up with ways to stand for Canada, to fight for Canada, to defend Canada, but mostly to say to our American neighbors, guys, just cut it out. Just stop it. This is a terrible idea," Freeland said.

'Canada should become our cherished 51st state'

Donald Trump Sunday said Canada will cease to exist without US subsidy and then it should become the 51st state of the US. "We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason. We don’t need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true! Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State. Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada — AND NO TARIFFS!" Trump posted.
