Meet Sophie Rain, the young OnlyFans star who made $43 million in a year

Sophie Rain became one of the most talked about influencers in the world this week thanks to her viral OnlyFans earnings.

The social media sensation, who turned 20 in September, has been everywhere since she announced that she'd earned $43 million on OnlyFans in the past year.

While mainstream media outlets are only just beginning to pay attention to the Miami-based bombshell, Sophie is already A-list famous on platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

While Gen X had Pamela Anderson and millennials had Megan Fox, Sophie is the quintessential sex symbol for generation Z.

Her social media following is formidable, with the young star boasting more than nine million followers on TikTok, five million on Instagram, and three million on Snapchat.

Her most popular TikTok video, which shows her dancing to rapper J. Dash's hit Wop in a gaming arcade, has more than 96 million views.

While Sophie always dreamed of becoming a top influencer, she never predicted that she would one day be making millions on OnlyFans.

'I never thought I'd become an influencer. I'm still waiting to wake up from a dream. None of this feels real,' she has said previously.

How did Sophie become famous?

Sophie's ascent to internet superstardom happened entirely by mistake.

While working as a waitress and trying to grow her social media following, the teenager was thrust into the spotlight thanks to a raunchy viral video.

The video starred a young woman who looked exactly like Sophie performing sexual acts in a skintight Spiderman bodysuit.

Sophie has maintained that she was not the person in the video, but it didn't stop people online from assuming that it was her - which sent her following through the roof.

'A lot of people were talking about how I looked like her and how I was the one in that video and it just latched onto me,' she explained on Twitch.

'Every single one of my comments on TikTok was flooded and I couldn't get away from it.'

Her boss at the time, who wrongly believed that Sophie was doing porn, then fired her from her waitressing job.

When did Sophie join OnlyFans and how much does she make?

Once she was fired, Sophie felt that she had no choice other than to cash in on her online notoriety by starting an OnlyFans account.

Despite not being the girl in the Spiderman video, Sophie decided to embrace the scandal in order to boost her following and gain subscribers.

'My friends and people around me said that I should just start an OnlyFans and that I should just play into it and use it to my advantage,' she admitted to YouTube star Kowski

'I played into it, people loved it and it started blowing up,' she added.

Sophie joined the racy website in April 2023, and within 18 months she had become one of the most successful OnlyFans creators of all time.

The average OnlyFans creator earns about $1,300 per year, according to Business Insider, while Sophie was able to make an eye-watering $43 million between November 2023 and November 2024.

Dr Phil star Danielle 'Bhad Bhabie' Bregoli famously earned $57 million off OnlyFans, but that was over a three-year period on the platform.

Who is Sophie dating?

Despite her line of work, Sophie is a devout Christian and virgin who keeps her romantic life private.

She was previously linked to S**t Me Out rapper NLE Choppa, and the pair even collaborated on music and content together.

However, she claims that they ended things when she found out another OnlyFans star had been texting him.

She has also denied dating Kick streamer Adin Ross.

'I'm a virgin. I'm a virgin 'till this day,' she told Kowski.

'I'm a Christian. I know it seems odd that I'm doing [OnlyFans] but I don't do anything else with anyone on my OnlyFans. It's just me.'

Sophie has also insisted that she's 'waiting for the right person' to 'spend the rest of my life with.'

Does Sophie's family support her raunchy career?

While she's a multimillionaire now, Sophie grew up in Florida on food stamps.

After hitting it big on OnlyFans, the social media star used some of her earnings to pay off her parents tax debts.

'Now, my parents don't have to live paycheck-to-paycheck,' she said proudly.

Sophie said that her parents were 'surprised' by the gesture - before her dad burst into tears.

'My dad started crying when he realized what I'd done. He gave me the biggest hug ever and kept thanking me,' she shared.

'They told me to just keep doing what I'm doing and that they'll always support me no matter what.

'It feels so nice to be able to help my parents and siblings.

'That's all I've ever wanted to do, and that's one of the main reasons why I do what I do. Seeing them struggle growing up really affected me and they don't deserve that.'
