- His face is the cover of the album "Strangeways, Here We Come" by British rock band The Smiths (released in 1987). He also appears on the American release versions of the sleeve covers of the band's compilation albums "Best ...I" and "Best...II".
- The reason Richard is pictured on three albums by The Smiths is because vocalist Morrissey was a huge James Dean fan, and all the pictures of Davalos were from East of Eden, and fragmented to where Dean is cut out of the photo, only showing Davalos, who played his brother.
- Grandfather of Alexa Davalos.
- Father of Dominique Davalos and Elyssa Davalos, with his wife, Ellen.
- While often confused for Greek, Davalos was of Finnish-Spanish descent.
- I'm in as much of a dilemma as to why Morrissey chose me for the cover as you, but I was terribly flattered.
