Tower of God's highly anticipated second season has finally received a fixed release date and with it news of a special premiere event at Crunchyroll's Anime Expo 2024. How do you decide whether a reality show is high quality or not? How should we rate and evaluate reality TV when considering shows for awards, such as Emmys? This seems simple: you just watch and decide! But it's not that easy, because so many of reality TV's elements are hidden from our view--or are at least not things we automatically consider and judge. Most often, we end up judging the content, which is to say, we judge the behavior of the people on the show. That's worthy of discussion, absolutely, though it might not reflect reality at all. Scripted TV shows are more straightforward to evaluate. All shows, from multi-camera sitcom to HBO mini-series, share the same basic elements: acting, writing, and directing. There's also technical work that's more behind-the-scenes, such as the score, set design, and costumes. Reality television has some of that, yes, but it's not as clear.

On September 23rd, Shane Dawson's first feature-length film, Not Cool, arrived on iTunes. As soon as the film became available, Dawson told his followers to go buy it, and off they went. Within hours of its release, Not Cool has zoomed up the iTunes movie charts, reaching the #5 position. Not Cool tells the story of a former prom king, played by Dawson, who returns home for his first Thanksgiving break since leaving high school. During his break, he is reunited with a former classmate (Cherami Leigh), who has little love left for her hometown. Lisa Schwartz, Dawson's real-life girlfriend and a fellow YouTuber, co-stars. Not Cool was created by Dawson as part of The Chair, an unscripted Starz TV series about the independent filmmaking process. Dawson and filmmaker Anna Martemucci were given the same script and each asked to adapt it into a feature film. Martemucci's version, Hollidaysburg, is also set to debut.

Woody Harrelson is set to star in John Hillcoat's upcoming cop drama "Triple Nine" at Anonymous Content. Harrelson plays Sergeant Detective Jeffrey Allen, uncle to Casey Affleck's fellow officer.

Comedian Russell Peters and actor Sean Astin (Lord Of The Rings) have boarded Malaysian 3D animated feature Ribbit as voice cast.

British actor Tim Curry and Cherami Leigh (Fast Food Nation) will also voice the film, which is co-produced by Malaysia’s Kru International and India’s Crest Animation Studios. Malaysia’s Multimedia Development Corporation has partly financed the project.

Directed and written by Chuck Powers, the film was recorded in Los Angeles with animation production taking place in Malaysia and India and development and post-production entirely in Malaysia. The bulk of the rendering was done in Hong Kong.

The film is the tale of a frog with an identity crisis.

"Throwing Stones" is an upcoming horror webseries, which was first reported on (here). The film has moved along in production, with the first episode planned for release this November. Leading up to the release, several video yearbook diaries will be release, which detail more about each character in the episodes. The film takes on the Broken Windows Theory which basically states that the removal of torn down and broken homes or the repairing of damaged infrastructure leads to a safer community. Also, keeping things in order leads to less vandalism and fewer instances of crime. This is a theory that was trumped by Mayor Giuliani in New York during the '80s and '90s with some success.

Throwing Stones will take this approach to a whole new level, as students are seen as the broken windows in need of repair.
