While growing up in the ’90s, you rarely made it through a school day without someone asking, “Do you believe?” The question covers a wide array of topics. Still, they mostly want to know if you believe in aliens, cryptids, and other supernatural phenomena featured in Fox’s science-fiction series The X-Files. Starring David Duchovny (Special Agent Fox Mulder) and Gillan Anderson (Special Agent Dana Scully), The X-Files is a cultural touchstone for many. The show introduced creatures like El Chupacabra, the Human Bat, the Jersey Devil, the Soul Eater, Mr. Chuckleteeth, The Great Mutato, and Flukeman to scores of viewers. While parents were fretting about kids listening to Marilyn Manson, The X-Files was feeding their imaginations with abominations aplenty, with a smattering of relationship drama and sci-fi action for good measure.

Few people know the highs and lows of fandom experience quite like fans of "The X-Files." One of the hottest shows of the '90s was also one of the messiest, featuring retconned central mythology, a sizzling will-they-won't-they relationship that culminated mostly in vaguely implied hookups, and way too many Mulder-less latter season episodes. The show also features a surprisingly complicated release order, with two movies, a revival series, and one spinoffs.
When "The X-Files" fans reminisce about the show, they typically seem to be talking about the seven seasons that ran between 1993 and 2000, when David Duchovny's Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully were on the hunt for aliens, monsters, and cigarette-smoking men week after week. But while it might be easier to cordon off the "simpler times" section of the show and call it canon, the fact remains that the official "X-Files" story doesn't end...

In gearing up for today’s 30th anniversary of “The X-Files” premiere, which debuted back on September 10, 1993, I recently re-watched the series finale, titled “The Truth.” Yes, I know Fox’s sci-fi show later spawned two revival seasons in 2016 and 2018, but I’m still calling this episode, which aired on May 19, 2002, the official series finale. When “The Truth” originally aired, fans and critics alike were decidedly mixed on the two-part ender written and directed by series creator Chris Carter. But 21 years later, I can safely say that it’s better than you remember.

It’s Day 4 of the SAG-AFTRA strike and Day 77 of the WGA strike.
“Discover the past, live the present and fight the future,” was an apt message from The X-Files‘ 1998 spinoff movie and it’s one that could be applied to the current actors and writers strike.
It seems timely, then, that some of those responsible for writing and starring in the long-running sci-fi hit, were outside Fox as part of an X-Files reunion.
Star David Duchovny told Deadline that there are so many issues to try and get through, particularly AI. “I think the powers that be have a lot on their plate right now with trying to figure out, kicking the can down the road with the AI stuff. What is it capable of? They’re philosophical questions,” he said.
Duchovny also highlighted streaming residuals. “We always worked in a business that rewarded success and didn’t want failure.

Raise your hand if you had “Ryan Coogler reboots ‘The X-Files'” on your 2023 Bingo card.
In the March 27 episode of the podcast “On The Coast with Gloria Macarenko,” “X-Files” creator Chris Carter claimed that Coogler is remaking the beloved Fox sci-fi/horror show for a new audience. “I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount ‘The X-Files’ with a diverse cast,” Carter stated. Fox has yet to make an official statement about the rumored project.
The original showrunner later added that Coogler “has got his work cut out for him, because we covered so much territory.” Indeed, “The X-Files” first aired for nine seasons between 1993 and 2002, with two feature films in 1998 and 2008. Fox then revived the series for two more seasons, which were broadcast in 2016 and 2018. The last episode to air was its 218th overall.

The temptation in ranking The X-Files is just to list each season in reverse order. It’s a series that started out incredibly strong, became a global cultural phenomenon, and brought mainstream audiences back to Sff television, but buckled under an unwieldy and increasingly unsatisfying myth-arc until it finally dwindled into ignominy after a somewhat lackluster comeback. You can pretty much divide The X-Files into a first half which is a truly great, ground-breaking show (Seasons 1-6) and a second half that’s flawed but still pretty decent sci-fi (Seasons 7-11).
One of the key things that makes a great season of The X-Files is a balance between myth-arc episodes and Monster of the Week episodes. In the seasons with a strong myth-arc, this results in a compelling story overall that provides plenty of variation in its storytelling. In a weaker season, it provides an opportunity to step away from...

The eighth and ninth seasons of "The X-Files" are frequently lambasted by the show's fans as its flop years. David Duchovny, who played co-lead character Fox Mulder, had left the show, and Gillian Anderson was re-teamed with Robert Patrick, playing a new character named John Doggett. Robert Patrick is a hugely capable actor and John Doggett is a fine character, but many fans were averse to accepting Doggett as a "replacement Mulder." Eventually, Anderson's role would be reduced as well, and Doggett would be teamed with another new character named Monica Reyes, played by Annabeth Gish. Again, Gish is a very talented actress, and...

It’s the cast and creatives of The X-Files like you’ve never seen (or heard) them before. The group reunited recently to record a special version of the show’s previously instrumental-only theme song for a charity video benefiting the World Central Kitchen.
The “Song in the Key of X” video, done remotely, includes actors David Duchovny (Fox Mulder), Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner), Robert Patrick (John Doggett), Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes), Nicholas Lea (Alex Krycek), and William B. Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man), as well as creator Chris Carter, writer/director/executive producer Vince Gilligan, writer/director/consulting producer Darin Morgan, and writer/director/co-ep James Wong. (You’ll have to watch the video to see where Scully pops in). Lyrics were written by fans Jennifer Large and Rebecca MacDonald.
“The unforgettable theme to The X-Files had no lyrics. Until now,” the spot’s title card reads at the beginning of the video.

Cast and creatives of series “The X-Files,” including David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, have reunited virtually to record a special version of the show’s famous theme tune, with fan-written lyrics, to benefit the World Central Kitchen.

After playing FBI Agent Dana Scully on “The X-Files” for 25 years, Gillian Anderson finally said goodbye during Wednesday’s Season 11 finale. Scully’s final scene played out on a dock with longtime partner Fox Mulder (David Duchovny). After seeing their son William (Miles Robbins) gunned down by the Cigarette-Smoking Man (William B. Davis), an emotional Scully confessed that Mulder wasn’t actually William’s father. When Mulder asked, “What am I now if I’m not a father?” Scully revealed that he still was a father … because she was pregnant. Are you happy with Anderson’s exit on “The X-Files”? Vote now in our poll below.

Like the title of the next episode of The X-Files says, "Nothing Lasts Forever," and we're already coming to the final two installments of the eleventh season. While we'll have to wait and see if more new episodes await us in the future or if this really is the end for Mulder and Scully, a new trailer promises plenty of action, drama, romance, and family time in the final two episodes of season 11.

"My Struggle III" wasn't a spoof.
If it had been nothing more than a parody of the real thing, then The X-Files Season 11 Episode 1 might have been entertaining.
Unfortunately, it was the real deal, and from the numbing voiceovers to the pointless car chase to some of the most wooden dialogue ever written, Chris Carter also had the audacity to introduce real information and assumedly important characters during the plodding hour.
Picking up right after the "excitement" of The X-Files Season 10 Episode 6, Scully was incapacitated by visions caused by seizures or seizures caused by visions, even with her advanced medical knowledge Scully didn't know what the hell the doctor was on about.
In the end, the only thing she knew for sure was the Cigarette Smoking Man needed William to operate and William was causing her seizure-visions, so no harm would come to at the hands of the former despite...

Our Us chums give their spoiler-free verdict on the latest X-Files revival...
There’s a moment in The X-Files season 11 where Fox Mulder gazes at the tombstone of an old ally and verbalises the paradox we’re all currently in. “He’s dead because the world was so dangerous and complex back then,” Mulder says. “Who’d have thought we’d look back with nostalgia and say that was a simpler time?”

It’s right there that Mulder cracks the case of why these revivals still appeal to viewers and why The X-Files is back again with new episodes in 2018, when all logic points to the contrary.

"Pretty Little Liars" has added Annabeth Gish to the cast line-up for its second season. The former Special Agent Monica Reyes depicter on "The X-Files" is tapped to play Anne Sullivan, a therapist who is assigned to speak with each girl about the Ian-related drama in first season's finale.
"Their parents get together and force them to see a therapist to deal with their issues about Alison and this unhealthy obsession with Ian," the show's executive producer Marlene King has said before. "The therapist is going to play a large role in the summer season and the therapist is going to be someone they think about being honest about 'A' with."
Season 2 of "Pretty Little Liars" will premiere June 14 on ABC Family. The story will be "very much more about the hunt for 'A' " after season 1 dealt with the hunt for Allison's killer.

Latino Review have sought the truth and it’s not what X-Files fans want to hear. They spoke to David Duchovny’s PR people who confirmed -
She said Duchovny is not aware of any working script for “X-Files 3.”
In addition, she clarified to LatinoReview that Duchovny actually said he would not mind working on another X-Files film and with actress Gillian Anderson again. And he was very proud of the previous two X-Files films.
The interview in France’s TVMag was not a fake interview, but the French reporter misunderstood on what David Duchovny said to her.
Shame.
Previously on The X-Files 3 story…
Chris Carter’s The X-Files: I Want to Believe received a lot of negative criticism upon its August 2008 release. While it was by no means a masterpiece and contained little to elevate it above an average episode of the cult television series, it was by no means a disaster,...

WWE Studios have announced the leading role debut of one of the biggest names in the WWE, Triple H. The wrestler, real name Paul Levesque, will join Kevin Corrigan, Ariel Winter and Annabeth Gish (one of my all-time favourite actresses), in the upcoming comedy, The Chaperone.
Triple H will play ex-con Ray Bradstone, a former getaway driver determined to turn his life around and establish a relationship with his estranged daughter Sally, in the film directed by Stephen Herek (Critters, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, The Mighty Ducks).
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m pretty interested to see The Chaperone. For one, Triple H can do comedy and action – we’ve seen that in the WWE; two it also stars Annabeth Gish; and three, it’s directed by Stephen Herek – who has made some damn fine comedies over the years.

"True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgård is attending the Tribeca Film Festival with director Tarik Saleh's "Metropia," in which he lends his voice. Set in the future in Europe, the film imagines life without oil and the continent is connected by a series of underground tunnels. With Skarsgård is the film's director (right) and Monica Reyes. Girls and boys at the party, naturally, swooned when they caught a glimpse of Skarsgård.
