Indigenous Media, the media company launched by Jon Avnet, Rodrigo Garcia and Jake Avnet, will produce the adaptation of Jean Nathan’s book, The Secret Life Of The Lonely Doll.

Bruce Cohen and Untitled Entertainment partner Jason Weinberg will join La-based Indigenous on the production, while Gia Coppola (Palo Alto) will direct.

The Secret Life Of The Lonely Doll charts what Nathan found when she went in search of the out-of-print and former best-selling The Lonely Doll book series by Dare Wright.

Journalist Nathan found Wright living in a public hospital in Queens, New York, and pieces together Wright’s bizarre life and her struggle to escape her painful childhood. Merritt Johnson adapts the book.

“Rodrigo and I have been fans of and have worked with Merritt, Jessica and Naomi before,” said Avnet. “Jean Nathan’s unique piece is a great vehicle for a reunion and chance for Gia Coppola to make a very distinctive film.”...

Earlier this year, Roger Ebert’s fascinating life was brought to the big screen in the incredible Life Itself, but Hollywood doesn’t appear to be done with the legendary film critic just yet. Russ & Roger Go Beyond, a project centering on Ebert’s collaboration with eccentric filmmaker Russ Meyer on the ill-fated satire Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, has popped up and is gaining some traction. However, last fall a new project popped up titled, "Russ & Roger Go Beyond," and it will detail one of most curious chapters in the lives of both Russ Meyer and legendary film critic Roger Ebert, with a big star eyeballing one of the lead roles. Deadline reports that Will Ferrell is circling the part of Russ Meyer in the Christopher Cluess (“The Simpsons,” “SNL”)-penned movie that will tell the tale of Ebert and Meyer, who traveled to Hollywood and the 20th Century Fox lot to write “Beyond Valley of the Dolls.

Lovelace, the moderately controversial film about porn legend Linda Lovelace is making its way to Blu-Ray and DVD on November 5th. It’s a cast that’s hard to argue with, and a film that is sure to get people talking.

Amanda Seyfried bears the burden of playing that '70s porn star with a fair amount of grace, but she's been sold cheaply by a script that's as scanty as her wardrobe.

Far from being a tale of revolution and empowerment, this is a chronicle of the abuse endured by Lovelace, mainly at the hands of her husband Chuck Traynor. Peter Saarsgard makes the flesh crawl in that role, first eyeballing Linda while she shakes her young booty at a club. Just why she is drawn to him is a mystery...

A New York federal Judge ruled in favour of Lovelace filmmakers and distributor RADiUS-twc.

Judge Thomas Griesa rejected a $10m claim filed on Monday by Arrow Productions that sought to block the film’s Aug 9 release on the basis that Lovelace contains more than five minutes of footage from Arrow’s seminal 1972 release Deep Throat that was used without permission.

The plaintiff had also sought judgment for use of the title Lovelace, which they claim was borrowed from their trademarked name Linda Lovelace without licence or permission.

However the Us District Court judge dismissed the plaintiff’s claims, finding in favour of Millennium Films, Nu Image, Animus Films, Untitled Entertainment, Eclectic Pictures, Avi Lerner, Laura Rister and RADiUS-twc.

Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman started shooting their Linda Lovelace biopic today, and we've learned about four new actors that have joined the cast of the movie.

Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth and Robert Patrick have all been cast in the film Lovelace and will join Amanda Seyfried who was previously cast in the title role. They also join Peter Sarsgaard who is playing her husband Chuck Traynor, and it's looking like James Franco will be playing Hugh Hefner in the film as well. He was originally in talks to take on the role of Traynor.

W. Merritt Johnson and Andy Bellin adapted Eric Danville's biography about Linda Boreman's rise to fame as iconic porn star Linda Lovelace of 1972's "Deep Throat," and her subsequent transformation into feminist, anti-porn activist Linda Marchiano.

The film is told through the perspective of three interviewers at various stages of her life. Amanda Seyfried has already been cast as Linda while Stone will play her mother.

There was some confusion as of yesterday as originally it was reported Stone was cast in Matthew Wilder's rival project "Inferno" based on the autobiography "Ordeal" which Lovelace wrote with Mike McGrady.

London, Nov 3: Actress Amanda Seyfried is in talks to play porn legend Linda Lovelace in the movie 'Lovelace'.

The 25-year-old will play the lead role in the movie along with Peter Sarsgaard who will play her pornographer husband Chuck Traynor, reports Variety magazine.

The adaptation has been written by W. Merritt Johnson from Eric Danville's book 'The Complete Linda Lovelace', and is being helmed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Competing projects are a common occurrence in Hollywood. In the recent past, dueling killer asteroid, killer volcano and killer Truman Capote movies have all jostled for box office superiority. Now, we seem to have dueling Linda Lovelace flicks. (And, yes, I made up the "killer" part of the Truman Capote flicks, but wouldn't that have been awesome?)
