It's been revealed that one returning character in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was originally supposed to die, but was saved for the sake of this new Star Wars story. While the majority of Skeleton Crew's cast and characters are brand-new to the galaxy, including Jude Law's Jod Na Nawood and the leading quartet of children, there is one known character who's set to make a return as one of the story's antagonists. This character, first introduced in The Mandalorian season 3, was nearly unable to become a part of Skeleton Crew, but thankfully had their fate changed.
In speaking with Den of Geek, Skeleton Crew co-creator Christopher Ford revealed that Marti Matulis' Nikto pirate, Vane, "was supposed to die in Mando." According to Ford, however, "they loved him, and they let him live, and then we took him." Because the creative team of The Mandalorian decided to spare Vane's life,...

Suits is one of the best and most popular legal dramas that managed to make the profession of lawyer cool again. Created by Aaron Korsh, the USA Network series follows Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who has a photographic memory and joins Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) at a prestigious law firm. The only problem with that is Mike didn’t actually go to law school and he doesn’t have a degree about which he has to lie to everyone. Suits ran for 9 brilliant seasons and ended its run in 2019. So, if you loved the witty banter, high stakes, and compelling characters in Suits here are some similar brilliant shows you should check out next.

The Suits spinoff Pearson only lasted for one 10-episode season. Pearson may have suffered from being ill-timed, leading to low ratings. The show's lack of success may explain NBC's cautious attitude toward the spinoff Suits: L.A.
There are several likely reasons for the failure of the Suits spinoff Pearson. Suits is a legal drama that ran on the USA Network that ran for nine seasons between 2011 and 2019. It featured an ensemble cast that included Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, Amanda Schull, Dul Hill, and Katherine Heigl. When the first eight seasons came to Netflix in 2023, the show became a major streaming hit, breaking records for an acquired show and racking up billions of minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock (which had the full nine seasons).

Simon Kassianides teases a possible return as Axe Woves in the upcoming The Mandalorian movie, sparking curiosity among fans. This has potential implications for Mandalore's role in the storyline, potentially merging Din Djarin's story with the planet's own. While it's not a surprise that Mandalore could be involved, Axe's return could make the planet's role even bigger than anticipated.

Actor Simon Kassianides, who plays Axe Woves on The Mandalorian, recently posted a picture of himself suited up, indicating that something is to come for his character.

Banking on the renewed interest in “Suits,” which has become a streaming hit on Netflix 12 years after it first debuted on the USA Network, Peacock has exclusively added the legal series’ short-lived spinoff, “Pearson,” to its ranks.
Gina Torres starred as title character Jessica Pearson in the Chicago-set offshoot, which was canceled after one season. The story picked up after Pearson had been disbarred in New York State and accepted a job as a fixer for Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak (Morgan Spector).
The series, which was more about politics than legal battles, was based on a suggestion by Torres after the 2016 election. She also came on board as a producer.
“I started talking to [executive producers] Aaron Korsh and Daniel Arkin, and we started throwing ideas back and forth, until it became what it is now,” Torres told Collider in 2019.

Peacock is hoping to drive some eyeballs to Pearson, the short-lived Suits spin-off, after the latter became a surprising hit on Netflix this summer.
The NBCUniversal streamer has added the show, which starred Gina Torres, to its service today. It is hoping that new Suits fans may discover the spinoff as well, which is not available on Netflix.
Pearson ran for one season on the cable network in 2019 but was canceled a month and a half after its season ended.
Toplined by mothership series alumna Torres, Pearson centered on her character, powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson, as she enters the dirty world of Chicago politics. It also stars Bethany Joy Lenz, Morgan Spector, Chantel Riley, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree and Isabel Arraiza.
Pearson originated on Suits, whose Season 7 finale served as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff.

USA Network legal drama Suits has entered an important second phase in its TV life. After airing throughout the 2010s on basic cable, the show about a very busy New York law firm has become an unexpected hit in the streaming world.
Though all nine seasons of the series have been available to stream on Peacock for awhile now, the addition of the first eight seasons to Netflix on June 17 helped supercharge its popularity. According to Nielsen, Suits has broken streaming records with the number of minutes it was streamed across multiple platforms this summer. Anecdotally, you may even know of several folks cranking through the show’s 134 episodes right now – or maybe that person is even you!
While Suits‘ “second phase” as a bona fide streaming phenomenon is an impressive achievement for any show with cable origins, there is still one more phase in the TV life cycle it needed to conquer: a spinoff.

While he may no longer have an active role in creating new Star Wars stories, George Lucas personally named one character in The Mandalorian. Showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni still have great respect for Lucas and are known to heed his advice whenever he visits the Star Wars sets. One such visit resulted in the name of a Mandalorian character introduced in season 2, adding a bit of Lucas' influence to The Mandalorian.
Speaking to The HoloFiles, Simon Kassianides - who portrayed Axe Woves in The Mandalorian - discussed how Lucas created the character's name.
"My very first time meeting Jon [Favreau] and Dave [Filoni], and being fitted, for Season 2…Jon and Dave looked at each other and asked if I knew how the character got his name. I just said it’s a pretty cool name. And they said that the day that George Lucas visited the set, he was sitting...

Season 3 of "The Mandalorian" took Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) to new heights and lows as she fought to unite all of the remaining Mandalorians under one cause. That's no easy task, especially given the bad blood between the old-school Mandos who never remove their masks and the more modern ones who let their skin breathe occasionally, and it's made all the more difficult because of her past interactions with her former Mandalorian crew. In episode 6, "Guns for Hire," Bo-Katan and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal et al.) end up doing some mercenary work in order to find the Mandalorians Bo-Katan was traveling with back in season 2. Once they finally catch up with the other Mandalorians, led by Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides), they aren't exactly glad to see her. Woves is pretty upset about her losing the Darksaber, and he isn't willing to listen to her plea for the Mandalorians to unite.

It turns out a certain character who has become a not-insignificant part of the "Star Wars" universe nearly died in "The Mandalorian" season 2. And when we say nearly, the character technically did die, but the powers that be filmed another scene and decided against going with that outcome. The character in question is Axe Woves, played by Simon Kassianides in the Disney+ series.
The news was revealed by Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryze. The actor recently appeared on Kristan Harloff's YouTube channel for an interview following "The Mandalorian" season 3 finale, which featured Axe Woves. You know, since he's not dead. But Sackhoff explains that, had things gone another way, he would have been a distant, deceased memory:
"Axe, you know, we knew he was supposed to die last year. That was the thing that no one could talk about. There was this moment where he sacrifices himself in that episode.

Warning: This post contains Spoilers for The Mandalorian season 3, episode 8
The Mandalorian season 3 was one of ups and downs, with some episodes landing far better than others. After The Mandalorian season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett, both of which sometimes favored Star Wars cameos over their own storylines, the Mandoverse had to find a different path. Whereas season 2 was about learning more about Grogu, The Mandalorian season 3 was about reclaiming Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal)’s home planet.
For the first time since the beginning of the show, The Mandalorian delved into Mandalore’s Star Wars history and finally visited the planet. Still, between Din Djarin’s redemption at the Living Waters and The Mandalorian season 3's finale, the show delivered both exciting and disappointing moments. Here’s every The Mandalorian season 3 episode ranked from worst to best.

There will be spoilers for "Star Wars: The Mandalorian" Chapter 24 - The Return.
The third season finale of "The Mandalorian" ends by tying up so many of the loose threads of the last three seasons, but also brings a new status quo, with a few unanswered questions remaining for future seasons.
The penultimate episode concluded with things looking grim for the Mandalorians who had come back to their home planet to take it back from the Imperials — led by the sinister Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) — who had been squatting there. Unfortunately, they walked right into a trap and were forced to sacrifice Paz Vizsla. Din Djarin was captured and Lady Bo-Katan Kryze (Bo-Katan) was on the run, but there was still a glimmer of hope as Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides) was on his way to get reinforcements.
Not missing a beat, this episode followed each of those story threads to its logical conclusion.

This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
When we first meet Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides) in season 2 of The Mandalorian, he’s working with Bo-Katan Kryze to obtain the Darksaber and unite Mandalorians under her leadership. While we don’t learn much about Axe in his debut episode, it’s clear that he and Bo-Katan have a deep respect for each other. This makes the big season 3 premiere reveal even more devastating: Axe, Koska Reeves (Mercedes Varnado), and the other Nite Owls have left Bo-Katan to become mercenaries after she failed to obtain the Darksaber from Moff Gideon.
After everything the Mandalorians have gone through with the destruction of their homeworld and near genocide of their people, it makes sense that Axe and the others would see Bo-Katan’s failure as another sign that their people are doomed to remain scattered across the galaxy.

This post contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" season 3, episode 6.
We are rapidly approaching the conclusion of "The Mandalorian" season 3 on Disney+, and the sixth episode, titled "Guns for Hire," did some real work in setting up a grand finale for Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze, and the rest of the Mandalorians as they look to reclaim their homeworld of Mandalore. But this episode took some pretty unique detours en route to getting the Darksaber back in Bo-Katan's hands. The cold open of the episode told a tale of forbidden love in short order, while also bringing us an obscure little connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe along the way — though you'd be forgiven for not catching it the first time around.
The opening of the episode sees the Nite Owls sent to retrieve the son of a Mon Calamari nobleman. He left his people to be with a Quarren, which didn't...

This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
The gloves are off and the blades are drawn, as The Mandalorian season 3 just confirmed a theory that’s bugged fans for weeks. In fact, the show just tied up story threads that go all the way back to when Din Djarin defeated Moff Gideon and inadvertently claimed the Darksaber in the season 2 finale.
Much like Jon Snow not wanting to sit on the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones, Djarin has never wanted to lead the Mandalorian people and rule (what’s left) of Mandalore. There are plenty of willing candidates out there, and although the writing was on the wall since the start of season 3, it’s still great to see Bo-Katan Kryze finally step up as the new leader of these Beskar-clad warriors.

While Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze are at the heart of The Mandalorian, there are no shortage of great actors and new characters making their way to the Star Wars galaxy this year. We’ve already seen Mark Hamill return as Luke Skywalker as well as Rosario Dawson bringing fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano to live-action. And of course, the series is anchored by returning cast like Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Emily Swallow as the Armorer, and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon.
Let’s take a look at all the characters, both new and returning, that have made their way to The Mandalorian season 3:

In the new episode, the sixth of the third season, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Grogu (aka Baby Yoda), and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) head to an independent planet, Plazir-15, to meet up with a group of Mandalorians, which includes Bo-Katan's former Nite Owls colleague Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides). When they get there, they're quickly brought to the palace to meet the planet's rulers, the Duchess and Captain Bombardier. If you were wondering whether The Mandalorian season 3 would deliver the same number of cameos as past seasons, it’s safe to say that “Guns for Hire” has more than answered your question. The episode, which takes Din, Grogu, and Bo-Katan to the planet of Plazir-15 on a search for Mandalorians, is absolutely full of guest appearances that will take fans by surprise. There are three particularly shocking ones.
But this episode isn’t just about cameos. There are also plenty of easter eggs and references to other Star Wars stories sprinkled throughout “Guns for Hire.” Here are the ones we found…

Spoilers follow for "Star Wars: The Mandalorian" Chapter 22 - Guns For Hire.
The latest "Mandalorian" episode begins with a Quarren freighter built on Mon Calamari traveling through space when it's beset by an Imperial ship. They offer to pay a bribe to the "Imperial Warlords," but find that it's not the Empire. It's the Mandalorians, led by Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides), coming to take a passenger from their ship prisoner. A "Romeo and Juliet" story is taking place there, and the Quarren captain has fallen for the Mon Calamari prince. The Mandalorians have been hired to take him back, and then they return to the opulent planet of Plazir-15.
Gears shift to Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) and Din Djarin. With Bo-Katan tasked by the Armorer with uniting all of the disparate groups of Mandalorians, she and Din Djarin set out from Nevarro to begin their new quest. The first place they...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers or The Mandalorian season 3, episode 6.
The Mandalorian season 3, episode 6 will prove to be one of the show’s most divisive, as it deviates from the main plot almost entirely. With only two episodes to go, The Mandalorian season 3 is quickly approaching the end. Episode 6, “Chapter 22 – Guns For Hire,” then, was assumed to set the stage for the season’s finale, as Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) went off to search for any remaining Mandalorians scattered across the galaxy so that they may retake Mandalore. And while that was undeniably part of the episode during its last few minutes, the rest of its runtime was dwarfed by an unexpected side quest instead.
This isn’t the first time The Mandalorian season 3 has veered away from its main narrative thread. The Mandalorian season 3, episode 3 similarly changed course, as it focused instead on the...

At the end of the second episode of the third season of "The Mandalorian," Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) makes it to the living waters in the mines of Mandalore with the help of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda). He's intent on bathing there to atone for his transgression: taking off his mask, an absolute no-no under The Way that he follows.
He's obviously happy to have made it there, but when he begins the ritual that would cleanse him, he's sucked under the water. Bo-Katan dives in after him, finds him at the bottom of the water, and carries him to the surface. But not before seeing what attacked him - the Mythosaur. The Mythosaur is a legendary beast with ties to the very existence to Mandalorians, and it looks like it means big, big changes are coming for all Mandalorians - and for Din. Ahead,...

When Giancarlo Esposito announced in an interview that season three of The Mandalorian would release this summer, we definitely had our doubts, especially considering the season had just finished filming. Sadly, we turned out to be right. We now have confirmation that the latest adventures of Pedro Pascal’s helmeted bounty hunter Din Djarin will be coming in early 2023. As part of the Lucasfilm panel at this year’s Star Wars Celebration, series creator Jon Favreau confirmed that the new season hits on Disney+ in February 2023.
Even better, the announcement came with a teaser trailer that hints at the next season’s arc. Although Lucasfilm is not yet making the trailer available online, Den of Geek was in attendance during the panel. Here’s a description of what we saw in the trailer:

Given the fact that nearly 16 months have passed since the last episode of The Mandalorian dropped on Disney+, fans will be quick to say “This is the way” to any bit of hopeful news. But since filming for the third season only wrapped at the end of March this year, most fans likely aren’t expecting to see the show back on their screen until fall, as was the case for seasons one and two, if not a release in Spring 2023. However, Moff Gideon has other plans.
In an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito responded to the host’s question about more Mandalorian with a brisk and confident, “You will get it soon.” Esposito went on to say that although he had more to do regarding his character, presumably reshoots, he believes the release of season three “will be sometime this summer.” With authority,...

Production is well underway for The Mandalorian season 3, which will pick up the story of Din Djarin and Grogu after their adventure on Tatooine in The Book of Boba Fett. Now that Grogu has decided that he’d rather be a Mandalorian than a Jedi (and who can blame him), the duo can move on to their next quest, which likely involves an ancient mine on Mandalore.
If you recall, Din was excommunicated from his clan in Boba Fett after revealing to the Armorer that he had taken off his helmet and shown his face to Grogu, a big no-no for this particularly extremist warrior tribe. But Din’s exile doesn’t have to be permanent. He just needs to go find a mine on Mandalore and “redeem himself” in the “living waters” inside. Sounds a bit like Mandalorian baptism.
Din’s mandatory voyage to Mandalore is certainly convenient since...

If you haven’t yet caught up on “The Mandalorian” Season 2, we suggest staying away from the 2021 Emmy ballots. They are chock-full of spoilers, including the fact that Mark Hamill has been submitted in the guest star category for playing a de-aged Luke Skywalker in the finale. Plus, fired cast member Gina Carano contends for the last time for her supporting role as mercenary Cara Dune. In all, 22 “The Mandalorian” cast members have been submitted for Emmys, including lead actor Pedro Pascal as the titular masked bounty hunter who seeks to protect his cute, green sidekick, Baby Yoda (aka Grogu).

“The Mandalorian” star Simon Kassianides is set to make his feature screenwriting debut.
The actor, who plays Axe Woves on the hit Disney Plus Star Wars series, has sold the psychological thriller “The Weatherman” to U.K.-based production house Raw.
The film is said to be female-led and in the vein of Christopher Nolan’s “Memento,” with elements of the Stephen King classic “Misery.” Raw’s notable credits include the heist drama “American Animals” and the documentary hit “Three Identical Strangers.” The company has just wrapped “Invasion,” a sci-fi project starring Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer.
“Experiencing the immediate passion and support around this project at Raw is inspiring. I’m thrilled that this film has the right home and equally excited to see it brought to life by some of the most intelligent and sophisticated filmmakers out there,” Kassianides said.

The Mandalorian concluded its sophomore run with a mind-blowing season finale this week. “Chapter 16: The Rescue” proved to be a hugely fan-pleasing outing as it delivered great action, drama, tension and an epic surprise comeback from an iconic Star Wars character. When it comes to the X-Men that we can’t wait to see rebooted in the McU, Storm is right near the top of the list. Fox never really nailed the character, despite Halle Berry and Alexandra Shipp’s best efforts, so fans are hoping that Marvel Studios manages to make the third time the charm. But who could play Ororo Munroe next?
Well, there are many options out there, but this new one would make a lot of sense, as some epic fan art (below) pitches The Mandalorian‘s Sasha Banks in the role. The former WWE star made a big impact on Star Wars fans despite her relatively small amount of screen time in the second season of the hit Disney Plus show, where she played Koska Reeves, a Mandalorian warrior and ally of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff).

Rosario Dawson made her debut as Ahsoka Tano in last Friday’s episode of The Mandalorian, which pretty much broke the internet. And though we’ve only got three outings left to go of season 2, it looks like she’ll be returning soon in at least one of them.
The actress appears to have accidentally hinted that she’ll be back as Ahsoka again and not only that, but we may know that she’ll be appearing alongside another iconic character. As pointed out by Twitter user @BeingKrennic, actor Simon Kassianides recently shared a photo of himself and Dawson on Instagram, which the latter then reposted on her Story, writing that she had fun working with him on The Mandalorian.
Now, we know that Kassianides made his debut on the Star Wars show in 2×03 as Axe Wolves, a cohort of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). Ahsoka, though, didn’t turn up until episode 5. So,...

The Mandalorian season 2 continues its trend of releasing a new character poster after each week’s episode, with this one showcasing Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze and her allies.
“Chapter 11: The Heiress” saw Sackhoff make her live-action debut as the Mandalorian warrior after voicing the character on The Clone Wars and Rebels. Now, Disney Plus has give her her own poster, following on from episode 1’s starring Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth and episode 2’s highlighting Frog Lady.
Bo-Katan factored into the story as she’s looking to get the Darksaber back from Moff Gideon, who was revealed to have the powerful weapon from Mandalorian lore in the season 1 finale. She temporarily allied with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin in order to steal some stuff from Gideon’s imperial forces and ended up giving Mando just the clue he needed to find the Jedi – the name Ahsoka Tano, another...

(Spoiler Alert: Do not read on if you have not watched the third episode of season 2 of Disney Plus’ “The Mandalorian.”)
After the second episode delivered more creepy-crawlies than plot, episode 3 “The Heiress” (directed by Bryce Dallas Howard) kicked season 2 into hyperdrive.
The episode begins with Mando, Baby Yoda and Frog Lady finally arriving on the planet of Trask, where the latter is touchingly reunited with her froggy husband.
Mando was promised that he would find fellow Mandalorians on the planet, and sure enough, it doesn’t take long before a trio of Beskar-armored warriors save him and Baby Yoda from a group of nasty squid sailors who try to feed them to a Kraken-esque monster.
But these aren’t just any Mandalorians. They are led by none other than Bo-Katan Kryze (played by Katee Sackhoff), a fan-favorite “Clone Wars” character, leader of the Nite Owls and sister to the Duchess of the planet Mandalore.

Dank Farrik! The previous episode rather sucked, and we were hoping for some upward movement in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 3: "The Heiress." Well, we got it.
Plenty of action abounds. But more importantly -- and more interestingly (as far as this critic is concerned) -- we have plot progression; this is the way!
But the episode's meat surprisingly does not follow any obstacle-ridden aspects of the Frog Lady egg journey from The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 2: "The Passenger."
In fact, the continuing plot from that episode ends rather suddenly within the first couple minutes.
Of course, the larger arc involves Din seeking others of his kind along with any of the Jedi to whom he might return The Child.
But at least we not only get to see a little more of our new favorite Frog Lady, but we are introduced to Froggy Husband Guy.
And The Child...

Warning: This recap has spoilers about today’s Disney+ drop of The Mandalorian Chapter 11: The Heiress, directed by Bryce Dallas Howard
Finally, three episodes in on season two of The Mandalorian, we return to some serious Star Wars mythology following two standalone adventures for Mando. We finally get to meet –in the flesh, as opposed to her animated self– Clone Wars’ Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), and she brought along some friends, fellow Mandalorians Koska Reeves (Mercedes Varnado) and Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides). Mando was looking for “others who look like” him and, well, they found him. He needed to find them as they could provide guidance to a Jedi where the Child (Baby Yoda for those not in the know) should be delivered to.
After being double crossed on a sail barge run by the Quarren (Squid Head people) Mando is saved by the Clone Wars trio. Bo-Katan (who keeps...

The Mandalorian‘s quest this Friday took him to the high(ly dangerous) seas, before introducing one major character from Star Wars: Clone Wars/Rebels and teasing the arrival of another.
Sufficiently hobbled by its adventures on the ice planet, the Razor Crest puttered along to Trask, where it made an unexpectedly splashy landing, missing the port city’s landing pad. While a Mon Calamari dockworker went about doing “his best” to patch up the dredged ship, Mando and Child watched as Frog Lady reunited with her husband. The husband, as promised, directed Mando to a nearby inn, where — as...

This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
Chapter 11 of The Mandalorian, “The Heiress,” packs an absolute punch. Not only does the episode mark the live-action debut of Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze, who is played once again by the wonderful Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), but it also brings Mercedes Varnado (better known as the WWE superstar Sasha Banks) to the franchise. After weeks of speculation, we finally learn during the action-packed half-hour that Varnado plays a new Mandalorian character named Koska Reeves.
Koska is a member of Bo-Katan’s group of Mandalorian operatives known as the Nite Owls, a faction that goes back all the way to the Clone Wars and wasn’t always on the side of the Jedi or the established order on the planet Mandalore. But now Bo-Katan, Koska Reeves, Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides), and who knows how many other Nite Owl operatives plan to take back...
