Raphael de Almeida Pimentel is the Animation Director at Luma Pictures where he spearheads both the Los Angeles and Melbourne animation teams. Raphael joined Luma in 2004 as a Lead Animator and due to his keen eye and natural leadership ability, he was promoted to Animation Supervisor and later to Animation Director. He has led the animation department on over 100 projects including I Am Groot, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and The Tomorrow War.
While at Luma, Raphael has performed motion capture for over 20 characters, including body performance for Miss Minutes in Loki, Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, Hulk and Ant-Man for Marvel and Coca-Cola's "A Mini Marvel" Super Bowl ad, Ironman, Molten Man and Dr. Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange.
