From 2014 to 2021, Irfaan co-owned and operated Kalahari Film and Media, an acclaimed South African production company he co-founded with Michael S. Murphey. Under their leadership, Kalahari Film & Media emerged as a premier production house, successfully facilitating and producing, studio and independent films with A-list talent.
Driven by a passion for independent producing, Irfaan transitioned from Kalahari to establish Wallflower Productions. This new venture focuses on developing original African content for a global audience, a move that caught the attention of Amazon Studios. At Amazon, Irfaan was instrumental in heading production for all scripted content across the Middle East and Africa, honing a strategy for original content that reflects his deep industry insights.
Following a shift in Amazon Studios' strategic direction, Irfaan returned to his independent producing roots. He now excels in bridging studios with seamless operations across Africa, the Middle East, India, and the UK, leveraging his extensive global network and expertise to support producers and talent in these regions.
Irfaan's extensive experience has reinforced his belief that the environment on set plays a crucial role in a project's success.
