Behzad Dabiri

Behzad Dabiri is an actor and writer based in New York city. He studied theater in Washington DC at the "Theater Lab", while working construction and later moved to New York to pursue acting. He is best known for shows like "Homeland" and "Madam secretary" and has had various roles playing Henchman, Diplomat, Detective, Sergeant and other roles in Film, daytime and Prime time Tv shows. He almost quit acting when he found out that his favorite teacher and the contemporary acting Icon, Stella Addler and the only person he wanted to study with had passed away, but he continued his studies in New York in workshops and classes learning the Stella Adler's method. He was homeless throughout his childhood living on the streets of Tehran for years and was kicked out of school and finally ended up moving out of country because of his families religious beliefs and after his life was threatened, he ended up moving to the States when he was a teenager. Behzad's favorite sport ever since he was a kid was basketball, and his favorite team as a kid were the Bulls. In his spare time, he likes to read novels and spiritual books and be involved in junior and youth empowerment programs, community building activities and after school programs in Harlem.
