Warning: This review contains spoilers for Outlander Season 7, Episode 15
Outlander season 7, episode 15, "Written In My Own Heart's Blood," delivers on the fast-paced promise of season 7 and races forward without giving us a moment to catch our breath. The episode shares its title with Diana Gabaldon's eighth book in the Outlander series, and by the final moments of the story, the meaning becomes all too clear. Outlander season 7, episode 14 paved the way for the Battle of Monmouth, which takes center stage in episode 15, pushing the characters to their limits and providing enough excitement to last a lifetime.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Outlander Season 7, Episode 14
Outlander season 7, episode 14, "Ye Dinna Get Used To It," has officially set almost all the characters on their ultimate paths for the rest of the season. With only two episodes left, season 7 has a lot of tension to resolve before the season finale, but the interweaving threads of the stories are converging. While Outlander season 7, episode 13, was a bit slower than some of the action-oriented installments of the season, "Ye Dinna Get Used To It" has brought back the heightened drama and fast pace, setting up a strong conclusion.

Outlander season 7's episode 13, "Hello, Goodbye," packs on the nostalgia from the earliest seasons of the show and continues the trend of father-son relationships driving the plot forward. After Outlander season 7, episode 12, there are plenty of questions still left about the fate of Lord John and William after being estranged from Jamie in the wake of his presumed death and reappearance. However, "Hello, Goodbye" provides some touching parallels throughout the episode. As families are reunited, they're simultaneously torn apart elsewhere, and lovers old and new learn from each other.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Outlander season 7, part 2 episode 12!The next installment of Outlander season 7, part 2, starts with a bang and is the most action-packed addition to the season yet. After leaving off on the cliffhanger that Jamie didn't perish on his ship heading back from Europe to America, he and Claire hardly get a moment to celebrate before he's already on the run from the Red Coats. Of course, that's not the only bombshell that was dropped in the first three episodes of Outlander season 7, part 2, as William now knows that Jamie is his father, and he doesn't handle the news well.

Jamie Fraser's fate in Outlander season 7 part 2 is a major question after the new trailer. Jamie is known for cheating death on many occasions, but the official trailer for season 7 part 2 leaves his survival a mystery. For now, at least, it's unclear what plan the series has for the beloved character and a long-term staple of the Outlander cast.
Starz release of Outlander season 7 part 2 official trailer reveals the TV series could avert from the books with one major detail. Jamie's teased death appears different from the novel, leaving room for fans to wonder if he is truly dead. That doesn't seem impossible, especially since some changes will likely have to happen with the series ending after season 8 when there are 10 books. However, Jamie and Claire's love has trumped every obstacle, and with Outlander season 8 still to come, Jamie could live through season 7 regardless.

"But there is only so much height any wave can sustain, before it comes crashing down." Sony Pictures Classics has revealed the official US trailer for The Outrun, which premiered at both the 2024 Sundance & Berlin Film Festivals earlier this year. It's the exact same trailer as the UK trailer from before but with new quotes. This acclaimed film is based on Amy Liptrot's memoir, the story of an alcoholic woman who returns to her homeland - the remote Orkney Islands located off the northern coast of Scotland at the very top of the UK. After living life on the edge in London, Rona attempts to come to terms with her past. She returns to the wild beauty of Orkney (where she grew up) hoping to heal. Starring Saoirse Ronan as Rona in one of her best performances yet. The Outrun is a searingly honest drama about addiction, survival and...

“You brought us to shark-infested waters the day before my wedding!” shouts Manchester bride-to-be-Lizzie (Lauren Lyle), having seen one of her party chomped on by an ocean apex predator.
Closer to the intimate, lo-fi thrills of Open Water and 47 Metres Down than the high seas camp of Deep Blue Sea and The Meg, director Hayley Easton Street’s debut feature is essentially Bridezilla vs Jaws, as a gang of gal pals, partying in the Caribbean for a destination wedding, are left stranded by not enough life jackets, one float and a leaky boat as Mr. Shark comes a-calling. The result lacks surprises, feels very familiar, perhaps working best as a cautionary tale for the kind of self-absorbed people who force their friends to pony up for ridiculously expensive nuptials abroad.

To celebrate the release of Something In The Water, the new thriller that hits UK shores this week, we had the pleasure of chatting with the cast and director as they take the big plunge.
When Meg attends the wedding of old friend Lizzie with fellow pals Cam, Ruth, and former partner Kayla, an emotional reunion turns into an epic battle for survival in the Caribbean.
Chatting to the cast of ladies and director Hayley Easton-Street we talk about the challenges of shooting on water and why so many filmmakers have said never to do it, being in the water and the endurance of it, the female friendship at the centre of the film, the shark hunting them and what it really represents, the brilliance of S-Club 7 (you’ll find out when you watch it) and much more in-between.

A group of friends finds themselves stranded at sea with a shark eyeing its next meal. Here’s our Something In The Water review.
Shark films are very in right now. Sting director Kiah Roache-Turner is working on one as is Renny Harlin, plus Netflix’s Under Paris is one of the streamer’s most watched films ever.
Hayley Easton Street is now adding her take on sharks eating people with Something In The Water. Posed as a survival thriller rather than a full-blown horror movie, the film follows a group of women, who have been reunited at a destination wedding in the Caribbean.
A fabulous day of sunbathing on a near-by island turns into a fight for survival after Ruth (Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart) is bitten by a sneaky shark in the shallow waters. The group finds themselves stranded in the shark-infested waters after Cam (Nicole Rieko Setsuko) wrecks the boat.

A group of women on their way to a marital celebration are plunged into a nightmare in this tense survival thriller
One memorable moment in Jaws, the granddaddy of shark movies, has Robert Shaw’s grizzled Ahab-esque salty seadog tell the story of his gnarliest ever shark encounter, when he and the shipwrecked crew of the USS Indianapolis spent days and nights in the ocean, being picked off one by one. It’s a terrifying scenario that, incidentally, avoids the perennial problem with shark films: how to keep people in the water. And while Something in the Water can’t claim to be a Jaws-calibre classic, it squares that particular circle very nicely indeed – though the crew here are far from hardened navy seamen: they are five young women attending a destination wedding in the Caribbean.

"I have a life that I have to get back to..." Studiocanal UK has debuted their trailer for The Outrun, which premiered at both the 2024 Sundance & Berlin Film Festivals earlier this year. This acclaimed film is based on Amy Liptrot's bestselling memoir, telling the story of an alcoholic woman who returns to her homeland - the remote Orkney Islands located off the northern coast of Scotland at the very top of the UK. After living life on the edge in London, Rona attempts to come to terms with her troubled past. She returns to the wild beauty of Scotland's Orkney Islands (where she grew up) hoping to heal. Starring Saoirse Ronan as Rona in one of her best performances yet. Something in the Water opens with an attack in a London subway station. Not by a shark on its way to visit relatives at the aquarium, but by a group of homophobes who take objection to Meg and Kayla daring to hold hands in public. It leaves Meg with mental and physical scars, as well as causing the pair to break up.
A year later, Lizzie and Dominic are getting married at a Caribbean resort, reuniting several old friends including Dominic’s sister Cam, Ruth and, much to each other’s dismay, Kayla and Meg. Now that everyone is here, they just need to do something stupid so they can become shark bait. Cam takes care of that by suggesting they all pile into a small motorboat...

The Requin. The Reef: Stalked. The Black Demon. Now Something in the Water. I’m reaching my breaking point with shark attack movies that are too distracted by other plotlines to deliver on their promise: shark attacks. Hayley Easton Street’s Something in the Water might be the biggest offender listed, taking roughly thirty minutes until the first shark-related incident, then another fifteen(ish) minutes for the first of frustratingly few substantial shark spottings. Cat Clarke’s screenplay tries to establish poignant storytelling about hate crimes, broken relationships, and debilitating traumas, but in doing so, forgets about the massive shark plastered all over the film’s marketing materials. Street and Clarke aim to elevate shark cinema with emotional throughlines, but sink the entire project with an alarmingly imbalanced approach.

The film follows Meg, who tentatively attends the wedding of old friend Lizzie in the Caribbean along with fellow pals Cam and Ruth, plus her former partner Kayla who she parted ways with after both survived a deeply traumatic event.”
Naturally, the wedding party is invaded by hungry sharks and all hell breaks loose.

"Someone needs to swim for help." Studiocanal has revealed an official UK trailer for a shark horror movie titled Something in the Water, made by a VFX artist turned filmmaker named Hayley Easton Street. "This summer, fear will find new depths." The survival thriller follows a group of five girlfriends who must fight for their lives in open water after a dream wedding transformed into a nightmare. Starring Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle, Natalie Mitson, Nicole Rieko Setsuko, and Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart, as a group of friends on a holiday gone very wrong. It's always the same story in these shark movies, something goes wrong while out on the water. But this still looks pretty good! They'll never stop making more shark horror movies,...

It’s, once again, not safe to go in the water as we quickly find out in the first trailer for Something In The Water.

Take a look at the trailer for Something In The Water.
Hold on, let me just cancel my upcoming holiday to the Caribbean. Now then, that looks rather good!

Whereas films like Deep Blue Sea and Sharknado have gone for higher concepts, it looks like Something In The Water is focusing on a smaller cast in one location in...
