Fun-filled martial arts movies have the power to bring the whole family together, and there are some astounding releases that kids, in particular, will connect with. As the stories of epic heroes overcoming adversity, animated kung fu fighters learning the value of honor and training, or even fantastical adventures that transport characters to different worlds, there are so many different types of great martial arts movies.
Many of the best martial arts movies ever made were family-friendly features that can be enjoyed by viewers of all ages. Some of these releases come from major franchises like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, while others are timeless kung fu classics that have endured in the hearts and minds of viewers for decades. MonsterVerse is one of the most interesting cinematic universes out of all of them. The Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures-owned franchise has earned over $2.5 billion worldwide and also consists of TV shows on different streaming services but the way it all came together is a bit iffy because of the rights issues and the general laziness that we see in the some of the MonsterVerse films, but still Godzilla vs. Kong is still one of the most iconic movies for me. So, we thought of compiling every project that exists in the MonsterVerse and ranking them according to their Rotten Tomatoes score, here it is.

From the early days of his career, Spielberg gained a reputation as a master of big-screen spectacle with an eye for interesting shots. His direction doesn't always draw attention to itself, but he has a wide array of filmmaking tools at his disposal which he uses to serve the story.
Steven Spielberg's best movies combine relatable stories with remarkable visuals. He has worked with several award-winning cinematographers in his time, including Janusz Kaminski, Dean Cundey and Douglas Slocombe. Tales of Tmnt carries on the success of Mutant Mayhem with a charming and hilarious new spinoff series, introducing new characters and expanding the universe. The show's unique animation style complements the quirky tone and the return of the central cast, showcasing the potential and longevity of the Tmnt franchise. With engaging storylines, the charismatic voice acting of the cast, including Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, promises exciting adventures and unforgettable moments.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the perfect follow-up to 2023's Tmnt: Mutant Mayhem, and while they both share a similar cast, the spinoff show welcomes some new additions. Despite the Tmnt franchise being popular for decades, it hasn't always had the best cinematic showings, but Mutant Mayhem's success proved the quirky, animated style was the best way forward for the series. Pop culture might love nothing more than to toss big personalities together and see what happens, but not all teams are created equal. The Avengers might set their biggest box-office records together, but at the end of the day, they’re solo stars temporarily sharing space. By contrast, the central appeal of the Friends is that they’re, well, friends; split one off from the pack, and you end up with Joey.
Paramount+’s Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seems, at first, like it might have misjudged where its heroes fall on that spectrum. Its first six-episode arc (of a twelve-episode season) largely separates the core four, losing much of the winsome rapport that defined 2023’s Mutant Mayhem. But it retains enough of that film’s zip to stand as a worthy follow-up — and eventually circles back toward a deeper understanding of what makes the Turtles tick as a team.

The movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem premiered in 2023, bringing our favorite ninja turtles (who happen to be teenagers) back to the big screen. And soon, they will appear on the small screen in the series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, exclusively on Paramount+. But do you need to watch the movie to understand the series or can you skip it? What about all other movies and series based on the pizza-loving heroes?
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is arriving just in time to help parents keep their kids entertained until school is back in session. All you will need to watch the animated series is a Paramount+ account. The series features the voices of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, and Ayo Edebiri.
If those names sounds familiar, that’s because it is the same voice cast from the movie, which I love!

The Turtles face new challenges as teenage heroes in New York City, blending action and comedy in a comic-inspired animation style. Co-showrunners Wan and Yost drew inspiration from Mutant Mayhem for the teenage-focused storylines and character growth. The addition of Ayo Edebiri's April brings a fresh dynamic to the team, integrating her fully into the Turtles' adventures.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set after the events of Mutant Mayhem. Now, heroes Leo, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey are lauded as heroes by the city. Attempting to balance their dual lives as teenagers and the heroes of New York City, the Turtles will face a new villain unlike anything they've been up against before, with new challenges that push them to their limits.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues the adventures of Raph, Leo, Mikey, Donnie, and April, capturing the comedy, action, and teenage vibe that Mutant Mayhem crafted.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles picks up right where the hit movie left off, following Leo, Donnie, Raph, and Mikey as they adjust to life above ground. Accepted at last by the people of New York, the brothers still have a lot to learn about surviving in the human world on a daily basis. Not to mention handling all the pressures that come with being teenagers!
On top of navigating their first days of high school and all the social challenges that bring, the Turtles also have to remain vigilant against new threats emerging from the shadows. And it isn’t long before they find themselves facing their greatest challenge yet in the cunning bishop. When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem opened a year ago, it hit like a mutagen bomb. Despite our fab four characters of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael being around for decades—this year marks their 40th(!) anniversary—never before had anyone really thought about treating them like… teenagers.
In the dizzyingly animated film, the characters were played by real adolescents like Nicolas Cantu (Leo), Micah Abbey (Donnie), Shamon Brown Jr. (Mikey), and Brady Noon (Raph). None of whom were old enough to vote when first stepping into the recording booth—a place where they recorded entirely together and in a style apropos of writers and producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The creatives who long favored spontaneity, and in this case the filmmakers wanted to catch the giggling authenticity of youth.
But you can’t be a kid forever, even if you’re a pizza-loving turtle in a half-shell.

Alanna Ubach teases Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' mutant-hunting villain Bishop and her goal for separating the Turtles. The Paramount+ show serves as a companion piece to 2023's Mutant Mayhem, building a bridge between it and the 2026 sequel. The show will also utilize a different animation style from the movies, delivering a stylish new look while also keeping it separate enough from Mutant Mayhem to ensure audiences don't feel obligated to watch it for the sequel.

Tmnt fans have a lot to look forward to with three upcoming projects showcasing the heroes in a half-shell's adaptability and potential. The TV show "Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Mutant Mayhem 2" will explore the group's further adventures. "The Last Ronin" will be a live-action adaptation of the acclaimed comic, offering a dark and grim take on the Tmnt franchise's potential future.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are doing better than ever, especially considering the upcoming three projects centered around the quartet, which gives fans plenty to be excited about. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird as a parody of popular comic tropes in 1984, the series ballooned into a franchise that has spanned decades of comics, animation, and live-action films. Their most recent reinvention, 2023's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, was a critical success that has inspired a new approach to the characters.

The first full trailer for Paramount+'s 2D animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem spin-off series, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is now online, and it brings us up to speed with the fun-loving Heroes in a Half-Shell following the events of the critically-acclaimed movie.
The teaser reveals that Leo, Mikey, Raph and Donnie will actually be flying solo at the start of the series, and we will likely follow them on individual adventures before they regroup to face off against a new villain who goes by the name of Bishop.
Based on the moniker, there's a good chance this is a new take on Earth Protection Force Agent John Bishop, who debuted in the 2003 animated series.
We still know very little about this show, but it is expected to be set between the events of Mutant Mayhem and the planned sequel, which means there's a decent...

"The greatest, bravest teenage brothers are forced to fight solo." Paramount+ has launched the full official trailer for the animated spin-off series titled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, debuting in August later this summer. This is a continuation of the massively successful animated movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem from last year, one of my favorites as well. Set after the events of the 2023 movie, the Turtles arrive on the streets of New York, where they are faced with new threats & team up with old allies, to navigate through teenage life. They end up fighting a villain known as "Bishop" and her robot henchmen trying to get rid of mutants. The trailer sets up the "they must fight on their own" concept quite well. Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon reprise their roles from the film as the Turtles, alongside Ayo Edebiri reprising her role as April O'Neil.

Here’s some cowabunga-worthy news: the heroes in a half-shell will officially be back. One of the greatest cinematic delights of 2023 was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem – the all-action animated adventure from director Jeff Rowe and writer-producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, which dared to make the teenage turtles actual teenagers, and doused the entire affair in a distinctive fuzzy-pencil art style and ‘90s hip-hop hits to boot. It was a moderate hit at the box office and received a raft of positive reviews – and now a sequel is officially confirmed.
As unveiled in a Paramount release slate, the follow-up to Mutant Mayhem is underway, and expected to release on 9 October 2026. Director Jeff Rowe is expected to return, and it seems like the four turtle actors – Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon – and April O’Neal vocal star Ayo Edebiri will follow suit. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around since the ‘80s. They’ve starred in several animated TV series, live-action movies from Jim Henson costumes to CGI turtles, and two animated films. The latest, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, reinvents the comic book heroes in several ways.
Perhaps taking a cue from the Spider-Verse movies, Mutant Mayhem uses an animation style that is not a straightforward depiction of its world. You can tell it’s New York and there are turtles and other mutants, but the animation combines styles like teenage sketchbooks to create a livelier viewing experience.
The film sticks to the turtles’ origins, mutated by green ooze along with their father figure, the rat named Splinter. The experiments by scientist Baxter Stockman (voice of Giancarlo Esposito) led to the creation of some familiar mutants like Bebop (Seth Rogen) and Rocksteady (John Cena), along with some new...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem writers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jeff Rowe said it was important that their turtles spoke like real teenagers. That meant brushing up on the latest crazes, like TikTok.
“We’re trying to make these ninja turtles sound like you and talk like you and reference the same TikTok videos that you watch that I’ve never seen that I don’t understand at all,” Rogen said on a panel for the film at Deadline’s Contenders Film: Los Angeles. “I don’t know who the Ocky guy is but apparently the Ocky guy is hilarious. Tell him you love bacon egg and cheese and that’s a whole thing.”
Though the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics have been adapted as a weekday afternoon TV show, live-action movies in the ‘90s and 2010s, and a 2007 animated movie, Mutant Mayhem is the first incarnation to cast teenagers.
