Game of Thrones: The Ghost of Harrenhal (2012)
Season 2, Episode 5
9/10
The most "fine" episode so far

Warning: Spoilers
Most of the scenes this episode are pretty good and would be highlights in the later seasons, but aren't good enough to stand out in the extremely high quality o the earlier seasons. Like look at the Tyrion scenes all three are nuanced, advance the plot and show his wits, all three are better than almost every i not actually every one of his scenes in season 5-8 but none of them are as good as his highlights that he already had this season. That applies to pretty muh every character this episode except Arya, Bran, Dany, and in a way Brienne.

Arya is my favorite this episode not only does she have the best scene but we also get Jaq'en offering her 3 deaths, and her using the first.

Brienne gets promoted from background to side character and has two of the best scenes in the episode.

Bran is in a way spot, if we accept that Jojen and Meera et introduced next season instead of this one, his scenes are the best he had this seasons so far, we have the best scene of him acting as Lord of Winterfell and foreshadowing about Theon attacking Winterfell, though I would have liked to see the prophetic dream instead of him telling Osha. But I also don't see a not reason to the Reeds this season and than Bran having this dream instead of Jojen hurts both of their characters a lot.

And Dany kinda has he opposite problem her scenes are accurate enough to her book 2 story, her book 2 story is just among the most boring part of the books. Everything that happens with her between the birth of Dragons and her going in the house of the undying isn't particularly interesting in either medium, and since this episode gives her by far the most screen time so far this season, it's quite noticeable here.

Best scene: The first Arya and Tywin scene and it's already really fun, this is definitely my favorite big change from the books. But there isn't much so say here that I won't say in her later scenes with him again and I don't want to repeat myself to much.

Worst scene: I am going to go with Dany's scene with Doreah and Irri because unlike her other scenes this episode this one isn't even important. Also Irri is quite annoying in this scene.
