Too much politics? Where have people been the entire series?

Warning: Spoilers
Saw lots of comments on Twitter about the politics of the show. I suppose if Twitter had been around during the '90s, we'd have seen comments regarding X-Files episodes then, too. If this was the first time people realized that Chris Carter was the type to criticize the president, they've not been paying attention. A reviewer here said they were disgusted and disappointed by this episode and that it was glad this is the final season. Go back and look at some of the old shows. Commentary on politics has been part of the show. There was criticism of Bill Clinton as well. However, we have a laughing stock in the Oval office now, so yea, it's easier to highlight the fact that the POTUS is paranoid, that people in power use disinformation to the point where citizens ask "does this even matter anymore?" and that the POTUS' language and behavior is unacceptable. Chris Carter exploited that beautifully in this fantastic episode.
