The strength of GoT is that it doesn't depend on battles for its strong scenes. Things are going south in King's Landing and the wisdom of Tyrion's decision to send Myrcella away from danger is now apparent. Can Tyrion save the rest of his family from the degenerating situation in the streets? They might not even survive for conquering King Rob to behead them.

Arya and Tywin's scenes are also terrific, and very well written. It really adds to our understanding of Tywin to hear his backstory about his "weak" father and to see that he can pick up on the slightest linguistic clues in Arya's speech. And how deftly she tries to distract from that (but Tywin is hardly fooled).

As the brains of the Lannisters, Tywin makes the family formidable, despite other family members who are foolish, blind or incompetent. Tywin's one big flaw is not recognizing that Tyrion is his true successor in intelligence and insight.

If Tywin elevated Tyrion to his proper place in the family, they would win the Game of Thrones. But Tyrion as a dwarf represents the "weakness" that Tywin cannot stand, and that is his fatal weakness. One of the many great ironies of GoT.
