Valeria Golino is an Italian actress and film director. She is known to English-language audiences for her role in Rain Man, Big Top Pee-wee and the two Hot Shots! films, especially the olive-in-the-belly-button scene. The second child of an Italian germanist and a Greek painter, Valeria Golino grew up in Naples until her parents parted. After three years in Athens with her mother and another three in Naples with her father, she began to work as a model. She left high school after her first movie and didn't study performing arts at all. In 1985 she got the leading role in Little Flames (1985) by Peter Del Monte and the next year won the Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival for Storia d'amore (1986). Now she works in the US (Clean Slate (1994), An Occasional Hell (1996)), Europe (The King's Whore (1990), Immortal Beloved (1994)) and in Italy. too, especially with young directors (Come due coccodrilli (1994), Le acrobate (1997), L'albero delle pere (1998)). In 1994 she produced and acted in Slaughter of the Cock (1996) by Greek director Andreas Pantzis. Her voice is more appreciated in Hollywood (where she took speech therapy) than in Italy (where she is sometimes dubbed); in "The Slaughter of the Cock" she acts as a deaf and dumb woman. She speaks four languages: Italian, Greek, French and English. Her brother is a musician and their uncle Enzo Golino is a famous journalist.

The film was nominated for Best Make-Up at the Academy Awards® and won seven David di Donatello, five Ciak d'Oro and five Nastri d'Argento awards. He has also published a novel Hanno tutti ragione (Everybody's Right) in 2010, and two collections of short stories: Tony Pagoda e i suoi amici (2012), and Gli aspetti irrilevanti (2016). Hanno tutti region was warmly received by both critics and public and was short-listed for the Premio Strega, the most prestigious Italian literature award. As of 2021, seven of his 9 films have been presented in Competition at the Festival de Cannes, where Il Divo won the Prix du Jury in 2008. In 2014, his film La Grande Bellezza won the Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, as well as a BAFTA and five EFA Awards. In 2016, La Giovinezza gained an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song and two Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Song. The film won three European Film Awards. Salvatore Esposito, Neapolitan, born in '86, studied at Beatrice Bracco Theater Academy and at the School of Cinema in Naples. He then moved to Rome and in 2013 he was cast for his first role on the TV series "Il clan dei camorristi". But his trampoline to fame was "Gomorra - the TV series" (2014) based on Roberto Saviano's book. Starring as the lead in all four season made him a household name, also thanks to the success of the series. In 2016, he was on the big screen with "Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot" as a young mobster. He moved away from mobster roles with his subsequent movies: "Zeta" and "Veleno", and with the comedy "Puoi baciare lo sposo" (2018). In 2019, Salvatore starred in "L'Eroe" and joined the fourth season on the TV series "Fargo". Some of his recent movies: "AFMV - Addio fottuti musi Verdi", "Taxi 5", "L'immortale", and "Spaccapietre". At 15, while she was studying foreign languages and modern dance. She attended the Italian school for performing arts, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia of Rome. Director Vittorio De Sica chose her for her debut role in Maddalena, Zero for Conduct (1940). At 19, she met her future husband, the director Alberto Lattuada, 11 years her senior, who chose her for a role in a movie taken from the renowned novel "Gli indifferenti", by Alberto Moravia. The movie was never realized, but they married a few months later, in April, 1945. In the '50s she took part mainly in theatre plays, and afterward some TV fictions. She also founded a co-op with her husband, director Federico Fellini, and his wife Giulietta Masina. Together they realized Fellini's directorial debut, "Luci del varietà" (Variety Lights (1950)).

Federico Castelluccio is a driven and talented individual maintaining careers, as a professional artist, established actor and director. Born in Naples, Italy, Federico moved with his family to Paterson, New Jersey, in 1968. In 1982 he was awarded a full scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he earned a BFA in painting and media arts.

As an actor, Federico began studying acting in New York City with renowned teachers, such as, Donald Buka, Molly McCarthy and Charlie Laughton. He performed with several repertory companies in New York,, doing classic, contemporary and original plays. Federico has been in many off, and off, off Broadway plays, as well as regional theatre and Shakespeare festivals.

Early on in his career, while doing "Savage in Limbo", a play by John Patrick Shanley, Federico was approached by agents from Barry-Haft- Brown, who saw his work and asked if they could represent him. Federico signed and almost immediately started booking, TV shows, Films and commercial spots. Some of his early, day player roles, were on, "As The World Turns", "The Guiding Light" and "Another World".

After pounding the "proverbial pavement", for nearly twelve years, Federico was called in to audition for a new HBO series, at the time, called The Sopranos. In the first season, Federico originally auditioned for the New York Boss, Johnny Sack. In the second season and at the height of the show's popularity, Castelluccio was brought in to read for the role of Furio Giunta. He auditioned for casting directors, then for David Chase and producers and finally a screen test with James Gandolfini. After three intense and nerve wracking auditions, Federico won the role and the rest, as they say, is TV history.

With Federico's unmistakable presence as Furio, his old world Neapolitan charm, coupled with the ruthless and dangerous street aspect, made for a multi-dimensional, complex character, who quickly became popular and well loved with fans all over the world. Federico's portrayal of Furio left an indelible mark in the consciousness of the viewing public.

Because of Castelluccio's outstanding work and convincing Italian accent on The Sopranos, people in Hollywood and the entertainment industry, thought Castelluccio was an Italian actor, ( from Italy) who spoke broken English. In fact, most people and fans who watched the show, were surprised to hear Federico speak in his normal voice. This presented a problem for him, since roles with Italian accents were limiting and far and few between. So, Castelluccio had to essentially reintroduce himself to Hollywood, by taking meetings with casting directors, producers, agents, etc... he redirected the path of his acting career and showed versatility by taking on roles where he could speak in different types of accents, as well as his normal English/American speaking voice.

Castelluccio has been making his mark by writing, directing and producing film projects. His 2016 feature film directorial debut, "The Brooklyn Banker," written by, Michael Ricigliano, starring Troy Garity, David Proval, Paul Sorvino and Arthur Nascarella, is based on the award winning short film "Lily of the Feast". Other films written and directed by Castelluccio include the shorts, "Keep You Enemies Closer" starring Peter Greene, William Sadler and Manny Perez. "Forget Me Not", with Yvonne Maria Schaefer and Peter Greene. And the award winning short film "Tracks of Color",starring Manny Perez, Elizabeth Rodriguez and David Castro.

Federico began his career as an actor in 1986. Some of his film credits include Made (2001) with Jon Favreau, Fire (1996) with Robert Klein and Diary of a Hitman (1991) with Danny Aiello. In television, Federico's credits include NYPD Blue (1993). Debuting at the Sundance Film Festival, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) received two awards - one for best dramatic directing and best dramatic ensemble headed by Robert Downey Jr., Chazz Palminteri and Rosario Dawson. Federico's recent film projects include the biographical _Cantante, El (2006)_ starring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez; Aftermath (2002), a crime-thriller starring Anthony Michael Hall and Chris Penn and directed and written by Thomas Farone; Il male oscuro (1990), filmed in southern Italy, a short film that Federico executive-produced and in which he acted; Capers (2008), a comedy, is due for release in 2007 and stars Danny Masterson. Lucky Days (2006) recently completed filming in New York City. In television, Federico was seen as the lead role in Dragon Dynasty (2006), which aired on the Sci-Fi Channel.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Federico Castelluccio, is an internationally renowned realist painter, art collector and connoisseur of old master baroque painting. He was born in Naples, Italy and moved to the US in 1968. From an early age it was evident that Federico had talent and an innate ability for drawing and painting and was determined to pursue a life in art. In 1982 he received a full presidential scholarship to the School of Visual Arts, in New York City, earning a BFA in painting and media arts. At age 17, prior to commencing his studies at SVA, an opportunity arose to paint a portrait for veteran actor, George Burns. Burns loved the painting and was impressed by Federico's ability to capture his likeness and felt compelled to help the young artists career, by introducing him to executives at PBS, NBC and ABC, all of whom hired the Federico to create paintings and illustrations for their TV programs and publications, .

Castelluccio has received many awards for his paintings and has appeared on national talk shows and radio programs regarding his art. He has been featured in numerous magazines and art publications, including American Artist and People Magazine. Various documentaries have been made on his work, including "Night of Hearts", which focuses on the process, making of and journey of a large figurative painting entitled "Vita". Federico was privately commissioned by art benefactor Christine E. Lynn and presented the painting to the Boca Raton Community Hospital in Florida. "Vita" was unveiled on November 16th, 2006 at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

Federico has traveled extensively to Europe for the sole purpose of drawing and painting. He has spent time working in France, Italy and Germany, inspired all along by the European old masters and contemporary realists. Castelluccio's focus has been mainly on painting the figure and still life, as well as, trompe l'oeil and landscape. He works strictly from life and has drawn praise for his paintings and for his exceptional quality and high level of technical ability.

Castelluccio's paintings have been exhibited in prestigious galleries throughout the United States and Europe. His works are held in the collections of Palazzo Chigi, in Ariccia, Italy, Yale University Museum of Art, in New Haven, Connecticut, Kresge Art Museum, in East Lansing, Michigan and Tisch Fine Art Collection, NY. His works can be found in major private collections throughout the United States, South America and Europe. In addition, many well known actors and celebrities own Federico's original work, including, Whoopi Goldberg, Caroline Rhea and Joe Pantoliano, to name a few.

The Kresge Art Museum showed Castelluccio's paintings in an exhibit titled "Masters of Illusion". The show highlighted paintings on loan from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Detroit Institute of Arts, including paintings by 19th Century Trompe l'oeil masters, John Frederick Peto and William Harnett. One of Castelluccio's paintings titled, "Torn Titian Taped" was acquired after the exhibit and now hangs in the permanent collection of The Kresge Art Museum, in Michigan.

Castelluccio has lectured at art schools, public events and universities, including Michigan State University and a lecture on Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, at Stony Brook State University, New York. In 2009 he was Master of Ceremony, Honoring Nelson Shanks, at the

Federico is a passionate collector and connoisseur of Old master paintings, early European sculpture and Roman, Greek and Egyptian Antiquities. His collection of 17th century Italian, Baroque paintings, has been highly regarded by scholars, experts and professionals in the art world. He sometimes incorporates from his collection in his own work.

Castelluccio is a serious artist. His fine-art paintings have drawn praise for their high level of technical ability, finding influence in the Renaissance and 17th-century Italian and Dutch baroque masters. Over the years he has exhibited his paintings in galleries in New York City, Washington DC and Santa Fe, New Mexico. His works are held in the collection of the Yale Fine Art Museum and Kresge Art Museum as well as private collections throughout the United States, South America and Europe. In 2006 Federico and Paul Sorvino were privately commissioned for artwork to be donated for permanent installation to a new wing of the Boca Raton Community Hospital in Florida.

Bud Spencer, the popular Italian actor who starred in innumerable spaghetti Westerns and action-packed potboilers during the 1960s and 1970s, was born Carlo Pedersoli on October 31, 1929, in Naples. The first Italian to swim the 100-meter freestyle in less than a minute, Spencer competed as a swimmer on the Italian National Team at the Olympic Summer games in both Helsinki, Finland, in 1952 and Melbourne, Australia, in 1956. He was also an Olympic-class water polo player.

Educated as an attorney, he was bitten by the acting bug and appeared as a member of the Praetorian Guard in his first movie, MGM's epic Quo Vadis (1951) (which was shot in Italy) in 1951. During the 1950s and first half of the 1960s he appeared in films made for the Italian market, but his career was strictly minor league until the late 1960s. He changed his screen name to "Bud Spencer" in 1967, as an homage to Spencer Tracy and to the American beer Budweiser. Spencer allegedly thought it was funny to call himself "Bud" in light of his huge frame.

After the name change, Spencer achieved his greatest success in spaghetti Westerns lensed for a global audience. Teaming up with fellow Italian Terence Hill, the two made such international hits as Ace High (1968) and They Call Me Trinity (1970) ("They Call Me Trinity"). Their dual outings made both stars famous, particularly in Europe. In all, Spencer made 18 movies with Hill.

He became a jet airplane and helicopter pilot after appearing in All the Way Boys (1972) and owned an air transportation company, Mistral Air, which he founded in 1984. However, he terminated his business interest in Mistral and entered the children's clothing industry. After 1983 Spencer's movie career slowed down, though he did have a big success in the early 1990s with the TV action-drama series "Extralarge". A man of many talents, Spencer wrote screenplays and texts for some of his movies. He also has registered several patents.

Spencer married Maria Amato in 1960 and they have three children, Giuseppe (born 1961), Christine (1962) and Diamante (1972).

In 2005 Spencer entered politics, standing as regional councillor in Lazio for the center-right Forza Italia party. He became a politician specifically at the bequest of then-Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. According to Spencer, "In my life, I've done everything. There are only three things I haven't been - a ballet dancer, a jockey and a politician. Given that the first two jobs are out of the question, I'll throw myself into politics."

Berlusconi, who was a media tycoon in the vein of Rupert Murdoch before he entered politics, recruited Spencer as he was "still a major draw for the viewer, alias the voter." Critics of Berlusconi--who tried to retain power by launching a campaign to portray his allies as the embodiment of "good" and the leftists of the opposition as "evil"--was derided as an example of "politica spettacolo" ("showbiz politics").

Spencer announced his new career at a "Felliniesque" press conference at a Rome hotel, at which he hardly moved and had little to say except homilies about upholding family values. Spencer sat between two Forza Italia handlers, and according to one major Italian newspaper, "From one moment to the next, you expected this mountain of a man to grab the heads of the two presenters and smack them together in his usual style, as he has been seen doing countless times on the big screen and television." The audition proved to be a flop: Spencer lost the seat, and Berlusconi's party was swept from power in 2006.

Denise Capezza is an Italian actress, born in Naples. After fifteen years of academic studies throughout her childhood and early teenage years, she eventually graduated in ballet. Indulging in her lifelong spontaneous love for theatre and cinema, she decided to take on acting, first studying in Naples before moving to Rome. Irene was born one morning in September, in Naples. Her facial features and her character are the perfect synthesis between the Neapolitan origins of the paternal grandfather and the French ones of the maternal grandmother. She loves driving, the winter sea and listen music from high distances.

At the time, Audrey Hepburn said that Dotti and her planned to have children together and that she decided to end her acting career to become an "Italian housewife". The couple had one child, a son named Luca, born on 8 February 1970.

Dotti and Hepburn stayed married for 13 years, but, many of those marital years were marked by Dotti's adulterous behavior with many reported affairs with younger women. Audrey Hepburn stayed with Dotti until she decided that their son was old enough to deal with the divorce. Although their divorce was somewhat bitter, Hepburn stayed in contact with Dotti following the divorce for the benefit of their son Luca.

Andrea Dotti died in Rome in 2007 on 30th September, following complications from a colonoscopy.

'Antonio Griffo Focas Flavio Angelo Ducas Comneno Porfirogenito Gagliardi De Curtis di Bisanzio' was a descendant of the 'Comneno di Bizanzio' and also one of the most popular Italian film stars in history. His genre was undoubtedly the comedy where he achieved world fame. From 1917 he was an actor of the companies of the "comedia dell'arte" and also poet in Neapolitan dialect. He made his first feature film under the same title in 1983, which received an award in Venice. Salvatores became known to a larger Italian cinema audience primarily through the comedies "Marrakech Express" (1989) and "Turné" (1990), which dealt with his own political and social experiences. The director made a name for himself in international film with "Mediterraneo" (1991). The tragicomic film received an Oscar for best foreign contribution and, against the backdrop of the Italian military occupation of a Greek island during the Second World War, depicts the rapprochement between the occupiers and the locals. Salvatore's next film "Puerto Escondido" (1992) is set in Italy and Latin America. With "Sud" (1993), the director finally presented a sensitive study of the Italian south, his true home.

The following films "Nirvana" (1997), "Denti" (2000) and "Amnesia" (2001) were mainly known in Italian cinema. The Italian television broadcast of Salvatore's film "Io non ho paura" (2003) in April 2005 was a complete success: 35% of viewers saw the film. In May 2005, Salvatore's "Quo vadis, baby?" before, the film adaptation of a novel by Grazia Verasani, in which a female protagonist goes in search of her sister.

He graduated in Engineering of Logistics and Production at "Federico II" University with a Master Degree in Management Engineering. In the same years he started cultivating his passion for the cinema and began to study acting in his hometown first, and then in Rome, at the newly born "Scuola d'Arte Cinematografica Gian Maria Volonté". During this time he participated in several short films and, after graduating as an actor in 2013, Ettore Scola chose him to play the role of Agenore Incrocci in the movie How Strange to Be Named Federico (2013) that was presented at the 70th Venice International Film Festival. In 2015 he was directed by Stefano Sollima and Francesca Comencini in the second season of Gomorrah (2014) where he plays the role of Mario Cantapane, a young man from a dangerous suburb who puts his life at risk for love. In 2017-2018 he's one of the main protagonists of the TV series Back to the Island (2017) as the chief of police Alessandro Ferras. In 2019-2021 Michele plays as Daniele, a nice and romantic gay freelance journalist, in the TV series La compagnia del cigno (2019), written and directed by Ivan Cotroneo. Afterwards he's a bartender, with a tough exterior but a sweet hearth called Giordano, in the TV series Mina Settembre 3 (2021), based on the novels written by Maurizio De Giovanni. And then he's the charming and mysterious Creative Director Davide Sardi, one of the main characters of the Netflix TV series An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts (2021), a romantic comedy created and directed by Bindu De Stoppani and co-directed by Michela Andreozzi.

Tony Rosato was born on 26 December 1954 in Naples, Campania, Italy. He was an actor and writer, known for Night Heat (1985), SCTV (1976) and Seeds of Doubt (1998). He was married to Leah Murray. He died on 10 January 2017 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
