Sonny Munroe, a Wisconsin girl with a popular website, has won a nationwide talent search to move to Los Angeles and star in the television sketch comedy series "So Random." Like many who enter Hollywood for the first time, she finds it's not all it seems to be.

Sonny has an encounter with Chad Dylan Cooper, star of the teen prime-time soap opera "Mackenzie Falls," and finds out that the cast of So Random and Mackenzie Falls have a rivalry with one another.

Chad is the host of a new celebrity prank show, and Sonny fears she is his next target when Chad arranges a movie audition for her that happens to be for the role of Sonny's favorite superhero "Fashionita."

It's Nico and Grady's birthday and Sonny gives them the perfect gift. Or at least she thinks she did, because as it turns out, the boys have a little trouble sharing the gift. This eventually results in them not being friends anymore and Sonny is left to try and fix things between them.

The So Random! cast attempts to preserve its claim on the prop house and prevent it from being turned into a meditation room for the MacKenzie Falls cast.

Sonny tries to help Tawni have a good date with new intern Hayden in spite of one misfire after another.

Chad is the new guest star on So Random, and he and Sonny have to do a sketch together where they will kiss, much to her dismay. Chad then says when Sonny looks into his eyes she will fall in love with him. Sonny takes this seriously, and, worried she will fall in love with Chad tries everything she can to get out of it. In the end, they do the sketch and just as their about to kiss a pig flies into Sonny's hands, so she let's the pig kiss Chad. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady get control of Marshall's office for the day, in exchange for Chad's So Random appearance.

Tawni's mum visits, and looks just like her. Sonny disagrees with Tawni over a silly sketch and tells her to fire her manager, only to discover her manager is her mother.

Zora is a member of the Blossom Scouts and wants to break the record for selling the most cookies, but as it turns out Dakota is going up against her for the record. Sonny once wanted to be a scout really badly (and it's still bothering her), so she decides to help Zora, but this doesn't end very well, which leaves Sonny with a huge mess to clean up.

Sonny and Tawni appear on their first talk show interview. But if the host has his way, he could make them both look foolish on worldwide television.

Sonny secretly cannot get enough of the Mackenzie Falls show, and goes to ask Chad the plot line of the show.

The cast of So Random! gets to play in a movie with Gassie, named: "Gassie and we". Sonny thinks Gassie isn't getting enough love and decides to give him treats and play with him, but then he suddenly can't do his job anymore.

Sonny and Tawni are mad at eachother and don't want to do the "Check it Out Girls" together anymore.

Sonny wants to raise money for books and libraries, while Chad wants to raise money to convince kids not to read books, so they can watch more Mackenzie Falls. Tawni is selling her own skinny jeans line and she is willing to help Sonny raise money if they all wear her pants. It eventually becomes clear that these pants have a nastly little side effect.
