One of the Soho cinemas advertises a poster for West End Jungle (1961) which had recently been banned by the BBFC.
Billa and her dad stand outside the shop of Anello & Davide (Theatrical Shoes) which was in the Charing Cross Road on the corner of Old Compton Street. The firm created Dorothy's red slippers for The Wizard of Oz (1939) as well as the famous Beatle Boot, examples of which can be seen in the shop window.
Billa's Dad is played by William Hartnell who starred as the first Doctor Who (1963). When Bob and Ginnie are browsing the market and shops on Berwick Street, they pause at a record shop. One of the discs on display is "Songs for Vulgar Boatmen" by Jon Pertwee, the third Doctor Who.
