“I felt like a protective nerd, like the gatekeeping fan girl in the room,” Ariana Grande jokingly told the crowd at the DGA Theater on Tuesday night. The Oscar nominee, speaking in conversation with Billie Eilish for an FYC event, shared what was nonnegotiable for her in terms of changes from Wicked’s stage musical to film.
“I’m somewhat of a purist when it comes to making musical changes, especially it has to have an emotional attachment or some sort of believable intention behind it,” she explained. The Eternal Sunshine singer said it felt like her job to protect Glinda.
“Stephen Schwartz shared that there was a version of popular in the very beginning that had hip-hop drums in it,” Grande told Eilish and the crowd, noting she thought it was fine to share since Schwartz had already told the story. “I was like, ‘How do I have this conversation in the most loving,...

Then, Ariana made a remark that got the crowd even more excited. “We do need to do that though,” she said, hinting at a future duet.

Billie Eilish helped replace a Los Angeles wildfire victim’s lost t-shirt with the help of Meghan Markle this week.
The duchess shared the story on social media, saying in a video that she found a girl who lost her home in the Eaton Fire while visiting Altadena with her husband, Prince Harry, in January. The girl had lost a beloved t-shirt from one of Eilish’s concerts. Markle said she doesn’t know Eilish, but connected with the singer through Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo.
Instead of replacing the t-shirt, Eilish sent a robust care package of clothing, merchandise and a signed record for the girl, who Markle said was 15 years old.
“To everyone who is showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much,” Markle said. In the caption, she also thanked first responders.

Music’s biggest night drew 15.4 million viewers on CBS Sunday night.
That’s down 12% from last year’s Grammys, which brought in 17.5 million viewers on CBS, per Nielsen Live + Same Day ratings. (The 2024 Grammys marked a 34% increase from the year before.)
Those figures do not include streaming and online viewership from Paramount+, CBS.com and the CBS app.
CBS claims that the music awards telecast was “the most social television program ever,” racking up 102.2 million interactions online. Still, marketing efforts for this year’s show were scaled back due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. As the ceremony focused on fundraising efforts and the resilience of the city, the Grammys raised nearly $9 million to aid wildfire relief efforts in California on Sunday night, and an additional $15 million over the weekend.
Sunday’s ceremony was the best Grammys in years, declared Variety‘s Chris Willman in his review of the telecast.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place at Crypto.com Arena on February 2, 2025, with all prominent music industry figures in attendance. The timing of the ceremony aligned with the aftermath of the California wildfires, causing increased significance as several performers paid tribute to the communities that suffered the fires.
Several artists performed together to open the event with Dawes, John Legend and Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent among them. Many chose the platform to bring attention to crucial issues while the catastrophic wildfires remained the most significant of them.

Billie Eilish, despite being nominated for some big awards at the Grammys like Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, lost all the nominations that had come her way, going home empty-handed for the first time since 2022. Fans were considerably disappointed, taking to X to air their grievances with the Academy.

Eilish has been largely considered one of the favorites of the Academy, among the likes of Taylor Swift, but it seems that there were other artists this year who had a Grammy in the cards. Fans are a little confused as to why this was the case, insisting that Eilish deserved to win at least one of the nominations this year.

Our long national nightmare is over: Beyoncé finally won Album of the Year. The Grammys desperately needed her to win this award, so the night felt like a true celebration. The entire 2025 Grammys ceremony was a “just give Beyoncé her damn Album of the Year already” countdown. It all goes back to the curse of Morning Phase in 2015, when she lost to an obscure Beck album, the biggest upset in Grammy history. Over the past decade, as she lost for Lemonade and Renaissance, there’s been a sense that Bey...

A phrase you will never see as part of a chyron on any other awards show: “All unworn undergarments will be donated to survivors of domestic violence through I Support The Girls.”
That notification flashed, so to speak, across the screen at the end of Charli Xcx’s performance late in Sunday night’s 2025 Grammy Awards.
Charlie Xcx had just made her way from the loading dock at the Arena Formerly Known as Staples in Los Angeles, paraded out onto the stage in an absurdly high-energy maelstrom of sweaty limbs, thrusting groins, raining confetti and, yes, veritable plumes of pantaloons — most presumably unworn, but who can say for sure?

Before we launch into this Grammys 2025 edition of Snubs and Surprises, let’s answer one question that may come up right at the outset: How can we characterize Beyoncé winning album of the year as a “surprise” when we repeatedly predicted it, as many other prognosticators did? There’s an easy answer for that: Although we rightfully called it, we were very, very, very, very nervous about it. We can relax now. At least one thing has been righted in this chaotic world, so let’s take a deep breath and take the “surprise” of actual perceived justice being rendered while we can get it. Now, onward!
Snub: Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish getting shut out. Are there two more popular and beloved pop stars in the world right now? There are not. And that is why Recording Academy voters will sleep soundly tonight — and assume that both Taylor and...

Kendrick Lamar made history on Sunday afternoon as he joined Kanye ‘Ye’ West and Jay-Z as the only rappers with more than 20 Grammy Awards wins. His famous diss track, Not Like Us has bagged three trophies during the 2025 Grammy Premiere Ceremony, and another two during the main ceremony.

However, fans of the rapper are not entirely happy and have been calling out The Recording Academy of the United States for not broadcasting the premiere ceremony and for not including the Best Rap Song award during the main telecast.

Beyoncé finally won Album of the Year and Kendrick Lamar pulled off two remarkable major-category victories at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
“It’s been many, many years,” Beyoncé acknowledged with a slight chuckle while finally accepting the prize that’s eluded her throughout her illustrious career, for Cowboy Carter. She went on to thank her many collaborators and dedicated the win to Linda Martell, the pioneering Black country artist who features on the LP.
“I hope we just keep pushing forward and opening doors,” Beyoncé continued.

Kendrick Lamar won the award for song of the year at the 2025 Grammys for “Not Like Us.”
Diana Ross presented Lamar with the honor, moments after he won the award for record of the year for the same track. In a ceremony that alternated between subdued and sublime, reverent and rocking, the 2025 Grammys attempted to offer thoughtful tribute to the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires while also honoring the best in music. Fittingly, the biggest ovations came at the end of Sunday’s ceremony, as the gathered music royalty rose to applaud Los Angeles County firefighters, who took the stage to present the final award, and then again to celebrate Beyoncé, who claimed the night’s ultimate prize: Album of the Year.
That win, for her country-crossover sensation, Cowboy Carter, was her first triumph in the Album of the Year category after four prior losses. One of the top awards of the night, record of the year, has been awarded to Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us” during the 2025 Grammy Awards.
After being presented the award by Miley Cyrus, who quipped that she may just say Beyoncé’s name instead, she eventually revealed that Lamar won the award. Once he made his way up to the stage to accept the golden gramophone trophy, Lamar said he’s “gonna dedicate this one [award] to the city” of Los Angeles.
“Compton, Watts, Long Beach, Inglewood, Hollywood, out to the Valley, Pacoima, Ie, San Bernardino, all that,” he says. “You know, this is my neck of the woods that held me down … since I was in the studio scrapping to write the best raps and all that, in order to do records like these.”

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars paid homage to Los Angeles with a performance of “California Dreamin’” at the 2025 Grammys.
After a harrowing video detailed the effects of the wildfires on the L.A. community, the “Die With a Smile” singers performed a stripped down rendition of The Mamas & the Papas’ 1965 track.
“I love you California,” Gaga said at the end of the performance, which prompted the crowd to erupt in a standing ovation. Grammys host Trevor Noah commended their tribute, reminding “to donate what you can” to MusiCares fire relief, an effort created by the Recording Academy to aid those affected by the wildfires.

Billie Eilish delivered a heartfelt performance of “Birds of a Feather” while subtly paying homage to Los Angeles at the 2025 Grammys.

With the 2025 Grammys due to be handed out on Sunday there’s much drama over several marquee races, including Record of the Year. Although the official Gold Derby odds favor Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso,” it doesn’t mean she’s a lock, especially considering she’s up against a two-time previous winner of this category, the most awarded artist in Grammy history, and one of the most beloved bands in the history of recorded music.
Here is the case for and against each of the eight nominees:

Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan will be among the top winners at the 2025 Grammys on Sunday, according to the official Gold Derby odds.
The night’s top prize, Album of the Year, will finally go to Beyoncé, based on our latest projections. She has lost four times before, often controversially, to the point that her husband, Jay-Z, called out the Recording Academy onstage while accepting his Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at last year’s show. When her Lemonade lost to Adele‘s 25 in 2017, even Adele admitted in her acceptance speech that Beyoncé deserved the prize. But beware: Beyoncé was the frontrunner in our odds the last three times she lost, and this year she has especially tough competition from Billie Eilish (Hit Me Hard and Soft) and Roan (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess). See the full category odds below.

The clock was nearing midnight when Billie Eilish took the stage at FireAid to thunderous applause. “Thank you for having me,” she said as she sat on a stool alongside her brother Finneas. “I’m very, very lucky to be here. This is my brother. We’re going to do some little acoustic songs, so it’ll be pretty quiet and chill. So if you wanna sit or whatever…”

Green Day kicked off the FireAid Benefit Concert with a performance of their 2009 song “Last Night on Earth,” joined by special guest Billie Eilish.
Eilish’s fellow Billie (Joe Armstrong) carried the first portion of the song, delivering its apt lyrics for the occasion — like, “If I lose everything in the fire/ I’m sending all my love to you” — as bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, and a number of auxiliary musicians, provided the ballad’s steady-moving arrangement.
Then, for the second verse, Eilish hit the stage, prompting enthusiastic applause from the audience at the Kia Forum. Standing alongside Armstrong, she beautifully crooned her portion, and for the final chorus, the two sang together in harmony. Afterwards, they embraced for a hug.
Watch a clip of the performance below.

The Los Angeles wildfires may have muted the music business’ usual weeklong celebration leading to the 67th annual Grammy Awards, but maybe that’s served to shine a brighter spotlight on music’s biggest night and its nominated artists? In any case, this year’s competition is (Sasha) fierce! When Beyoncé struts into the Crypto.com Arena on Feb. 2, she does so with the most nominations, 11, including three in the top general categories — album, record and song of the year — a feat shared by Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter (the last two are also up for best new artist). Will Beyoncé finally win album and/or record, two trophies she doesn’t yet have in her case, despite being the winningest artist in Grammy history? Will Swift add a back-to-back Aoty to her collection (this would be her fifth!)? Or will Charli Xcx have everyone seeing lime green?...

British sitcom star Pauline Quirke will step back from professional duties after being diagnosed with dementia.
Her husband, Steve Sheen, released a statement saying the Birds of a Feather actress had been diagnosed with the condition in 2021. The 65-year-old Quirke will now end all professional and commercial activities, Sheen’s statement read.

Alaskan Bush People star Bird Brown worked very hard to get followers on TikTok. But, like so many others, the Discovery Channel star has moved to YouTube. On Friday night, she posted her first video on the platform.
Bird Brown Sees TikTok Go Down The Drain?
Alaskan Bush People fans loved Birdie’s TikTok content. She doesn’t backstab her family. And, she loves animals. Her cats, in particular, are adorable. So, she will get subscribers on YouTube, All hope is not gone, according to Reuters. Apparently, President Donald Trump might give the Chinese-owned site a reprieve.
Anticipating the ban going through this Sunday, the Discovery Channel star took to her Instagram last week and announced her move to YouTube. Bird Brown has now done her first video there, and already, subscribers are giving her the thumbs-up.

Alaskan Bush People star Bird Brown is on TikTok, Threads, and Instagram. But now, the Discovery Channel star revealed that she started a YouTube Channel. Some fans fear that the Brown family becoming so active on social media might mean they never get to see new seasons of the show.
Bird Brown Is Very Active On Social Media
Alaskan Bush People fans are grateful because of her cancer scare. Everyone fears tumors and illness, so she keeps them updated about her checkups. So far, so good, it seems. Plus, Discovery fans love it when she shares about her animals: especially her cats.
Discovery Channel stars like Bird Brown and the rest of their family became way more active on social media. Their fans fear that it’s because the show might not be renewed. For now, that does mean that their content is welcome. Except for the current feud between Rain and Noah Brown.

Alaskan Bush People has not been on TV for over two years now. This means that fans have had to rely on social media to follow the Brown family since the last episode aired in December 2022. Not all the siblings are active on social media, but those who are have tried to keep things alive. Snowbird Brown is not the most active, but she has announced that she is making a move.
Here is what Snowbird had to say about her future destination, especially if TikTok ends up shut down in the United States.

Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” appears to have snuck past Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” at the buzzer to become the most-streamed song on Spotify of 2024.
According to Variety, the Hit Me Hard and Soft single finished out the year with 1,775,172,881 streams in 2024. That gave it about 650,000 more streams than Carpenter’s “Espresso,” which ended the year with 1,774,525,704 streams on Spotify.
The achievement garnered a celebratory post on X from Eilish’s label, Interscope Records. A rep for Spotify did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for more official year-end data.

Billie Eilish and the Forum are like birds of a feather. Since 2020, the Los Angeles native has performed in the storied concert venue multiple times, the latest stop being a five-night run that marks her triumphant hometown return.
Eilish kicked off her L.A. stint of the Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour on Sunday, Dec. 15, designating a different opener for each night — The Marías, Towa Bird, Nat and Alex Wolff, Ashnikko and Finneas, respectively. The 23-year-old began the trek in September, playing 36 dates on the North American leg, which wraps in L.A. Following the Grammy Awards on Feb. 2 (the singer is up for seven Grammy nominations), Eilish will head to Australia for the international leg of the tour.
But this week, it’s all about her homecoming at the Kia Forum. Here are highlights from her five-night run, which is scheduled to end on Dec. 21.

A current conceit for some pop concerts, if you will, be they Madonna, Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, entails the performer flashing their hits across a spectacle of costume changes and jazzed-up set pieces.
Billie Eilish, on the other hand, doesn’t need such tricks. In fact, the singer only has one getup throughout her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour, which is closing out its North American leg at the Kia Forum in her L.A. hometown this week. Her performance wattage is what’s bedazzling in how she can take the singles from her recent chill, self-reflective album Hit Me Hard and Soft and turn them up onstage to 11 (in Spinal Tap volume speak), whether it’s bass or belting.
Witness her first tune of the evening, “Chihiro,” an ode to the character in Spirited Away. Not exactly a dance-party number from the album, but Eilish mushrooms the ditty out of the gate,...
