- Greg Esperson: [serious tone] She's a saint here, John.
- John Garner: Well, sorry, big guy, I don't mean to step on anybody's toes, but I *am* standing in the middle of a rally for a convicted murderer.
- [nods]
- Greg Esperson: Laurie never killed anybody. Everybody here knows that.
- Laurencia 'Bambi' Bembenek: Actually, I'm thinking about starting a new job.
- Greg Esperson: Yeah?
- Laurencia 'Bambi' Bembenek: Yeah. How do you think I would look in blue?
- Greg Esperson: Blue? It would go with your eyes.
- Laurencia 'Bambi' Bembenek: Oh, I knew there was a reason I always wanted to be a cop.
- Greg Esperson: Policeman? That's your new job?
- Laurencia 'Bambi' Bembenek: Police*woman.*
- Greg Esperson: But people *shoot* at cops.
- Laurencia 'Bambi' Bembenek: Oh? Guess I'll have to duck!
- [laughs, and Greg joins in]
- Greg Esperson: Lemme tell you something. She was smarter and worked harder than most of the guys. Some people saw Laurie as a pin-up girl and that's all. But that's not who she was. She was ambitious as she was smart, and men don't always like that.
