This episode aired in October 2020. Misha Green was given the nod to start writing a second season in February 2021 and then the Covid-19 pandemic hit. By July of that year, HBO announced that the show would not be returning. While the show's relatively low ratings and the pandemic were cited as reasons for this, there was conjecture that Green cultivated a toxic work environment.
