- The Mandalorian and Child travel to an ancient site.
- As instructed by Ahsoka, The Mandalorian arrives with Grogu in Tython, and finds the ancient temple on top of a mountain. He places Grogu at the center so that he may choose his path. While Grogu meditates trying to reach out with the Force, the Mandalorian is confronted by Boba Fett and Fennec Shand and then later by companies of stormtroopers under the command of Moff Gideon as he tries to protect the child.
- As instructed by Ahsoka Tano, the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) takes Grogu to the planet Tython. After spotting the ruins of the temple which sits in the center of a Stonehenge like structure, the Mandalorian takes Grogu and puts him upon the center rock. Nothing happens for a while, but just as the Mandalorian spots a new ship flying in, he turns around to find Grogu enveloped in a shield that shoots out into the sky. The Mandalorian tries to pick him up, but the shield is seemingly impenetrable and throws him back.
Mando leaves Grogu to confront the new arrivals. They turn out to be Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) who has a gun pointed at Grogu's head. Boba tells the Mandalorian that he's been tracking Mando ever since he visited Tatooine. He asks for his armor back, but the Mandalorian doesn't trust that he's telling the truth. It doesn't help that Boba Fett doesn't follow the Mandalorian creed and plays by his own principles.
They agree to a truce and all of them put down their weapons. The Mandalorian puts down his jet-pack as well. The Mandalorian learns that Fennec Shand whom he had left for dead in a previous episode on Tatooine was rescued by Boba Fett and had given her android internal organs. Fennec has been working for him ever since. Their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of an Imperial ship tracking the Razor Crest. Boba Fett and Fennec Shand promise the Mandalorian that they will keep Grogu safe, as long as he agrees to return Fett's armor in exchange. The Mandalorian needs the help, so he accepts.
The Mandalorian rushes back to collect Grogu from the temple but is again repulsed by the shield around Grogu and is left unconscious. Fennec and Boba Fett hold off the storm-troopers coming out of the Imperial ship with Fennec taking them out as a sharpshooter while Boba Fett sneaks up on them and destroys them to pieces with his unique weapon. And just when Fennec thinks she has succeeded, she realizes they've only survived the first wave. The Mandalorian regains consciousness and rushes in to help Fennec Shand. He uses his Beskar armor as a defensive shield, but the sheer number of storm-troopers are threatening to overpower them. Boba Fett comes in for the rescue, now suited up in his Beskar armor making easy work of the second batch of Stormtroopers, who are scared enough to retreat to their ship and take off. As the two Imperial ships fly away, Boba Fett delivers a parting shot which destroys both the ships. The Mandalorian is left impressed but Boba Fett admits that the shot was a fluke.
Just as they begin to relax, as a red bolt crackles out of the sky and hits the Razor Crest blowing it up into pieces. The attack came from an Imperial cruiser hanging over the planet, with a smiling Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) within. He immediately launches four Dark troopers, who converge on the temple where Grogu is now lying half-asleep, unprotected by the shield. Boba Fett tries to stop them with his ship, but the Mandalorian asks him to stand down as he doesn't want the child to get hit accidentally. The Dark troopers escape into the cruiser with the child.
Back down on the surface of Tython, the Mandalorian sifts through the Razor Crest wreckage. All that's left of it is the Beskar spear and Grogu's favorite toy. Fennec and Boba Fett promise to stay with the Mandalorian until Grogu is back in his care, for they were unable to keep their end of the bargain. the Mandalorian has new allies, including Boba Fett. The new trio return to Nevarro, where the Mandalorian asks Cara Dune (Gina Carano), now a Marshal under the New Republic, to look up where Mayfeld (Bill Burr) is being held. The Mandalorian wants to break him out so he can help locate Gideon's Imperial light cruiser. Cara is initially hesitant to help because of New Republic rules, but when the Mandalorian mentions they've Grogu, she's immediately on board.
Meanwhile on Gideon's ship, Grogu has been doing his best to keep storm-troopers at bay using his force abilities. Gideon is quite impressed but he's also aware of Grogu's limitations: he gets tired when he uses his powers too much. Predictably, Grogu becomes exhausted after taking out two storm-troopers. Gideon then walks close and shows off his dark-saber. Grogu is then stunned and chained, as Gideon asks his communication officer (Katy O'Brian) to contact Dr. Pershing. They have their donor again, whose "high M-count" blood they need for the experiments they've been running.
