Trivia
The Boulder Free Zone in Colorado scene where Sinese and Walston are talking with Lowe, sitting on wooden benches before stage appears to have been shot at Sundance, Utah where Robert Redford's Sundance Outdoor Theater is used for the set.

Goofs
When the motorcade with Nadine approaches Mother Abagail's house a large trash truck is the last vehicle to make the turn onto the street. The truck is never seen again in the shots of the vehicles.

Alternate versions
The US DVD by Artisan contains a few uncensored scenes which were edited for the TV release. The back of this DVD lists the run time as 366 minutes but is actually 361 minutes. The US DVD released by Paramount is the edited TV version and runs 2 minutes shorter at 359 minutes. All other DVDs in other regions contain this edited TV version but run times vary only because of NTSC to PAL transfers, not because of any added or deleted scenes.
